bizarre

Thats great… i have an option with them to Istanbul. Good to know they are good.
Well nothing wrong with the things produced in China, but I doubt about their ability to create something competely new. Aviation requires years of tradition, which they don´t have. I think it´s a big bite
Building a A320 over there is not that hard, if they are trainned properly and under certain standards and controls.
We all have chinese things at home which are just great. My Accer computer is built in China, but it hasn´t been designed there.
As we all know most of the things we use are manufactured in China. The manufacturing industry is the main reason of Chinas economic boom.
India is usually flooded with sub-par Chinese products including electrical supplies and motorbikes, it all totally depends on who is behind the manufacturing.
Does anyone have info about specs on the Chinese regional jet? I wonder how that fairs according to the world standards.
Looks like every country that sticks it up to the west automatically means business for Russia… not that they have any other choice.
Air Zimbabwe has also ordered a couple of IL 96s recently.
But definately 100 TU 204s would be a massive order and boost to the Russian civil airline industry.
Flying day time ismy main reason of me staying partial to SQ for my numerous DEL-SIN-MEL journeys. Infact i am booked on the same flight yet again in July when i come back from Europe. I think TG has a minimum 11 hour stop for any Aus flight from LHR and i try to avoid Malaysian all together.
What about Kingfisher or Jet Airways instead 🙂 An stopover in India could be a nice option too.
well if you are planning a stop-over in India…. then i would suggest MUN-DEL on LH. The flight lands at around 10am which gives you a good day ahead. Then onto Australia you have a plethora of connections… SQ via SIN, 9W offers connections to all Aussie cities with its code-share with Qantas.
MH, TG, AI all offer connections. Or you can also land in DEL… take a flight to BOM and take Qantas direct BOM-SYD operated on a A333 (i think).
Kingfisher (IT) does not fly international yet.
Keltic if you make your plans in such a way that the flights are all day flights its a much better experience. SQ leaves Singapore in the morning at 9:55 am i think, for all three MEL, SYD and ADL. I have done this route alot of times and found the day flights being much much less tiring.
Either there is something we are not being told..because i find it hard to believe that a chief 777 pilot with the chairman on board would suddenly decide to wear his tom cruise attire and buzz the tower..unless he spotted a nice women around.
if not…. then i guess plain stupidity took over.
Do you think it’s the Soviet pilots or the load configuration of the plane
Well i have seen them in these situation at airfields that dont boast of a long runway such as Agra, with late rotations due to heavy payloads and then holding a low pattern as it slowly gains altitude. I have been woken up in middle of the night a fair few times by low flying IAF 76s. And all IAF Il 76s are flown by Indians… being the Indian Air Force. 😀
I actually love these retro c/s. I think it looks great…. and i do still hope the IL62s keep flying.
Any idea what engines they are using?
Cheers for the pics.
reminds of a recent incident with one of Air India’s A320s…. soon after take off the oxygen masks came down.
Passengers obviously thought they were in trouble but the aircraft smoothly made its way to its destination Mumbai. Apparently the pilots didnt even know the masks had come down.
i have seen the IAF IL 76 do that a few times. Maybe not that close but fairly late rotations.
