nice work Sandy…… it looks great in Monarch c/s. 🙂
Yes, UA is in financial trouble at the moment, but they are making headway. I don’t think this would classify as a big risk, Kabir. The reason I say this is because United usually has very strong load factors on all of their Asian routes, which is why they were hit so hard by SARS. They depend very heavily on these routes. Suffice it to say that it may be these very routes along with their LHR slots that are keeping them afloat at the moment. Besides, it’s not like they are going to fly there non-stop from, say SFO or ORD, or something. It’s just a continuation flight, in which 2 or 3 HKG flights will be able to feed the one flight from HKG to HCM. I just don’t see these factors as being high risk. Tell me “UA is beginning daily non-stop service into HCM from SFO, LAX and ORD” and then I’d say it would be very high risk.
true…..there most load will come from HK not HCM. I dont think HCM has enough passengers who could afford to goto USA yet.
Has anybody thought that perhaps this was simply a commercial decision?
Why does everything have to be political?
Because UA being in the condition it is at the moment cant afford tot take such big risks.
“I hope i dont end up on a caption contest on some dumb aviation forum” – the guy crawling.
Yet another desperate young man tries to stowaway in the undercarriage of a plane out of Cuba…
Flood.
lol good one.
I know that. I do design liveries you know.
I’m just saying that the choice of colour here is not particulalry the best. The blue is too pale and looks washed out.
The cheatleine looks like it’s come from the 70’s
“you can tell an easyjet on finals from miles away! And thats exactly what the livery is meant to do.”
i was commenting on that, that liveries are not meant to be like which we can see and spot from miles away.
and yes Air Deccan’s livery is nothing good but it can be termed as better from some of the others.
Easyjets colour scheme is vibrant.
you can tell an easyjet on finals from miles away! And thats exactly what the livery is meant to do.
Same with southwest, old and new. This Air Deccan, it’s just another anonymous aircraft coming in for landing.
The c/s is to signify the charecter of an airline and is not meant to act like a billboard so that we can recognise it from a distance.
EasyJet, Jetblue, Southwest
need I go on?
you call EasyJet and Southwest viabrent???
Jet Blue yes it is above the average LOCO c/s.
I dont think UA is going to get enough load factor from HCM….but we’ll have to wait and watch. i maybe proven wrong.
Great pic… SAA did this during the finals of the Cricket World Cup 2004.
That is a pathetic c/s.
It was in jest.
Hope I didn’t offend you, it was not intended so
ah not at all….its just 2 am here and i am desperate need of sleep and still have work left….tend to get cranky at night. Please excuse me for that.
I think this is a diplomatic move more than a move by the airline? What are your thoughts on it GD1?
uh! the plural for Aircraft is AIRCRAFT…… No blooming S!!!
cheers for the correction but really no need to be that picky.
I agree. The Colours chosen are also not strong enough. They look washed out and faded.
If they accompanied these light shade with a few darker highlights, it would be fine. But as it is, it looks bad.
show me a good and vibrant c/s on a LOCO.
