I think when you carry valuables…you carry them on your own risk. But the airline is responsible for safety of your luggage and getting it to its destination in one piece. Recently Royal Nepal had to pay $4000 to a customer who lost his luggage…and this is one of the few examples, baggage loss is common.
Sam, Alliance Air is just a part of Indian Airlines, its not an independent company. So all the competition basicaly faced by Indian Airlines, they introduced Alliance Air so that they can deal with main sectors while a sub-commite deals with feeder and small sectors. Currently Indian airlines has the lead in the domestic market…..IA is over 50% and Jet is somewhere 40% so this doesent leave much gap for airlines like Sahara. Although Sahara is not doing that bad either….but of-course no way near IC and 9W.
