I agree with EGNM….they should use non-leathel weapons instead of live ones. Anyway its sheer madness to have live guns on board…..even if with pilots they still can be turned againts them.

the B744D was the one with options of winglets, they switched to the winglets as a standard accessorie soon after that.

Yea…i did Mel. to Syd on a Ansett B767….never expected that. Air India does Delhi-Mumbai with A310s and at night B747s.

Il 86s do have lavoratiries under it…so does the B747. There have been 2 cases of these lavs. being used…one was in a Il 96 and one on Angolan B747.

Lets put it this way….would you like to be slammed into a building or blow up mid-air?? I think these security measures are necessery, just for one reason….safety. As the number of passengers travelling by air increase day by day these measures are absolutely necessery.

I agree Bhoy….the Trents will really power the a/c. I have travelled in both the B777 and the A340….the kind of power the 777 produces is no match for the A340 and not forgetting they are of the same capacity.

Pan Am also used to carry a fifth engine when it recieved its first B747s.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-07-02 AT 09:20 AM (GMT)]there was no fighting with anyone…infact when the a/c went down there was not even a single hijacker in the cockpit. It was a natural procedure of emergency landing in water due to very low fuel. All the hijackers were in the cabin…..while the pilot was trying his best.

i agree GD1…the IL 96 is a great a/c….too bad most cointries ignore Russian aircrafts.
