    RE: TU 156

Cheaper agreed, but will airlines gamble with safety. Even if Russians got out the TU 156 mostly Russian airlines will only buy it. No western airline will gamble with such a thing in my opinion. Maybe those like Cubana etc. who maybe forced to take this technology in, as these will be very cheap.

BAe cannot kick the 146s to Bhuttan, India is handling this transaction for Bhuttan. BAe 146 are actually really great for Bhuttan, i went there many years back and it was a flight that i will never forget. Totally over the Himalayas, the flight is scheduled to take 2 rounds around Mt. Everest and then head for the capital city Thimpu. In the last minutes of the flight…..you are just circling between huge mountains, its really a majestic flight!! Also i took pics of the Druk Air…BAe146 in Thimpu….i’ll get them scanned asap for u all…till then enjoy this.

RE: Boeing 737 – Is it time to move on?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-02-02 AT 09:24 AM (GMT)]I agree……why should they stop its production….anyway they cannot stop the production in near future also as according to my knowledge….till now Boeing has not planned any alternative for the B737. It will of course be suicidal if they stop production in near future, Airbus will have straight advantage with its A320/319.

Also the B737 is more efficient and cheap than the A320, so most low cost carriers as you can see opt for the B737 series.

    RE: Future of 146/Avro RJ?

146/Avro RJ is scrapped for now….but it might come back! BAe will have to keep on providing maintanence etc. services to already operating users. The three RJX are kept in storage at present…..as BAe said that they hope RJX is not scrapped for good. So still a chance of it coming back.
