    Sameer.

For me it is nothing to do with either high or low level employment, or about globalisation, politics or economics. It is not about education, it is not about race it is simply this….

When I wish to speak to any organisation I may be doing business with, whether it is a simple query or to complain, I expect to be able to communicate. In my personal experience with the personnel manning call centres in India, this inevitably becomes a problem. I do not wish to spell my surname five times, it is a five letter word and as such not particularly complicated. My address requires spelling on numerous occasions, okay, the name of the street may be difficult to spell for someone who is unfamiliar. But the word Street? I have to read account numbers or card numbers several times to be sure that the operative gets it right. They often object to my request to them to read it back to me. The operator rarely has any understanding of the nature of the complaint or query and even less idea how to rectify it. The standard answer when asked if I can speak to a supervisor is that one is not available. Should I ask if I can be transferred to someone in England that facility is not available either.

As I said to a supervisor the other day, it shows the level of trust that their employer has in their work when the only way to complain is by letter and that the call centre staff have no backup or support whatsoever. I have a moderately strong black country accent, but when I speak to Geordies, Scots, Irish, Liverpudlians, cockneys or Glaswegians, I have no trouble in communicating. The problem lies not in the language itself, but in the nuances and inflections which are a part of everyday speech. That and the fact that Indian call centre staff, in my personal experience, are wholly inadequately equipped, trained or otherwise suited to deal with telephone enquiries from people who are often angry or distressed because of a postal communication received.

Not really a great answer!! Is It Moggy? Anna  😉

No, it’s not is it. But then again, gaining unauthorised access to the Moderator’s forum for the sole purpose of fuelling one’s own bitter, vindictive and personal vendettas should hardly fill the perpetrator’s with pride, should it?

I wonder who he/she/they might be?

The Refueler may not have closed the fueling caps properly.

Jesus Sandy, you just can’t help yourself can you?

You design superb liveries but do you have to have an expert opinion on everything?

You may be right, it might be the refuellers fault, or a fault in the aircraft, or even a set of circumstances involving both, but you don’t know, do you? Yet you still pontificate as to the actual cause.

Sorry sandy, but one day your itchy typing finger will get one step too far ahead of your brain and will put you in serious trouble of the legal kind.

Just read what you wrote again….

“The refueler may not have closed the fueling caps properly.”

One day this wild speculation is going to get someone into serious trouble.

    Sandy.

How many UK jobs are there for Boeing employees? As 50% partner in the so called ‘special relationship’ (we even send our military to die on behalf of America, and sadly in some cases at the hands of Americans) do you not think it appropriate that Boeing might pass on some of their good fortune to Britain in the form of employment?

If Airbus secure employment for British families what then is the issue? I see no difference at all. Boeing does not need to ask for subsidies or support because they effectively operate a closed market with regards to the US Military. Name one aircraft purchased by the US for military usage which has generated billions of dollars for the manufacturer which is not American in origin.

Your ‘Boeing bias’ for that is what it is, would not be so vehement if yours or your families livelihoods were at stake.

It seems to me that you never complain at all about any manufacturer that is not in direvt competition with Boeing. Have you complained about the manufacturer of the Dash 8? Or Embraer? The answer is no and that is because they are NOT in direct competition with Boeing.

If G-MAFF is registered for the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, does that mean that G-MAFE is registered for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Excrement? It would be so like any British Government to have a Minister for err….. waste?

Nice photos anyway but the Mon 330 does look dated now.

    1) Possibly ATC delays in Europe somewhere causing a knock-on effect?

    2) Perhaps Bournemouth doesn’t operate at that late hour necessitating the diversion, again perhaps caused by ATC delays?

    3) A good question. What earthly reason would Milan supporters have for meeting a flight full of Liverpool fans? Can’t have been travelling from Istanbul back home to Milan, unless they were on a circular tour of Europe?

    4) Shamrock and DashQ have answered that one. However, you may be advised to sleep on the floor, it would almost certainly be more comfortable.

    Mr. Clark.

The webmaster has been emailed, approached and private messaged about many topics, no answer is ever forthcoming. Is there a webmaster? If so he is reclusive and unwilling to become involved in answering the very queries the code of conduct suggests we speak to the webmaster about. if not, someone logged in using his identity the other night….

Your suggestions are fascinating, perhaps we should follow your example to the nth degree, only allowing certain posters to keep their membership. For all it’s faults, people on these fora have done an incredible amount of good. Perhaps you are unaware of the Memorials arranged by Snapper and EN830? Or the work on second Lieutenant Wastell by Steve Young, or the work of those involved in the preservation movement at Duxford, MAM and numerous other places? The hours of tireless research that people have carried out.

Perhaps you are hoping for the position of webmaster, it would suit your dictatorial style of posting down to the ground.

My most embarrassing moment involved a wheelchair, the ramp at the AAM and a curiously excitable and breathless JDK…..

    Ah, but the Mistel was a Fw190 A-8 when it landed…. 😉

Unless, of course, it was a Bf109?

Whereas the Ju88 was always just a smoking hole in the ground…..
