Great picture Wrenchbender. Perhaps you should go and bend your wrench on that aircraft, unless of course it’s one you’ve already worked on?
‘Dude If you actually knew anything about airlines other than the pretty paint jobs or commercials we could talk about something. Oh I forgot something!’
Yes, this is quite true, most of us are not connected with the industry. But then again the majority of us aren’t the kind of bitter, twisted individual you portray yourself to be. Perhaps you might benefit feom spending an hour or two mellowing out at one of the BBC’s websites? I understand the Tweenies and the Teletubbies are particularly good.

Hi plawolf.
Perhaps I didn’t explain myself very well. It just seems to me to be wrong for those of us who have no intimate contact with todays events in Spain to be discussing who the perpetrators were before the bodies are even cold. Maybe it’s because I’m from a nursing background that the thoughts that are going through my head are how are the families coping? The nurses, doctors, rescue workers etc. From my involvement in trauma those are things that concerned me, blame was something for later and for others. When a young woman died in my arms I wasn’t thinking of the how’s and the why’s, just how to do the best I could for her, how to tell her family.
No offence taken. And I can understand what you have said, it would just never occur to me to think in that way immediately.

For pity’s sake, what is wrong with people? The bodies are not yet cold, some families will still be wondering where their loved ones are, people will still be being operated on, others fighting for their lives, yet others will slowly have their lives slipping away, the blood will still be lying on the ground, in the ambulances…. Yet we’ve already managed to start a discussion about who is or isn’t to blame? Spare a thought for those who have died and those who are yet to die, for their families, for the wounded, the rescuers. It is easy for us to apportion blame, especially those of us who have no connections with Spain, we can make ill-judged comments about who it was or might have been.
What started as a well intentioned news thread is already on the way to becoming a post-mortem, even before all those who will die as a result of this tragedy have given up the fight.

I dont give a toss about helicopters either but all you need to think is world war 2 1939-1944 where there were helicopters.
Slightly flawed logic there. The Second world war ended in 1945, not 1944.
My message too is ‘Learn’ 😉

Some faults. The SST question is as SOC said ambiguous, F117 NOT F1-17, the Buddy Holly question is easy as Elvis died in a toilet and John Lennon was shot.

I’m feeling ever so neglected…. 🙁

Ben.
First of all do you know whether this man is alive now? Do you know what his unit was or even just the Regiment or Corps? Both of which might help pinpoint him.
You could try writing to the:
army Personnel Centre,
Historic Disclosures,
Mail point 400,
Kentigern House,
65, Brown Street,
Glasgow,
G2 8EX
Records are only normally given to next of kin but dependant on your reasons for wanting to know they may give you brief details to help your search.
Sorry can’t be more help.
