It got quite busy this afternoon. Just out of shot there’s one just airborne, two in sight on approach and another two taxiing out just out of shot on the right.

Aer Lingus 146. Apparently these aren’t going to be with the airline too much longer.

Firstly, I don’t think it is childish, but I believe it is misguided. Concorde is finished, past its sell by date, a fading symbol of something that never really came to fruition. A supersonic airliner? Everyone will want Concorde, well, that wasn’t true was it? How many were built? It’s never been affordable other than to an elite few, it’s an icon of everything that went wrong with the British Aircraft Industry.

I won’t go to see its final flights, I won’t buy any of the souvenirs, I certainly won’t shed any tears. I just hope nothing goes wrong in its last two weeks of service.

I have to say, as a mate, STOP MOANING! They are great. The ANA 747 is stunning and the shot of BNLO after crossing the road is good too. They all are, except for the one with Concorde in 😉

Maybe I’ve got ot wrong, but, isn’t he supposed to be a Flight Sergeant? If so where are the crowns? And, as aircrew in an aircraft in which we saw at least three or four crew, whh no Brevet?

Quite enjoyable if you don’t take it too seriously.

    Yaaayyyyyy!!!!!

Way to go Ian. Trying to convince Andy to take up your kind offer of a lift. Perhaps if you told him you wouldn’t pull more than 4G? Any more takers? Ren? Jay?

OK then. Shall we say BHX on the 22nd of October? If those who can make it want to let me know when and where they are coming from I can arrange to be there to meet you. Depending on how many come I can offer a little side trip to COV to see what’s on the ground there and a look around the Midland Air Museum which also gives good views across the airfield at Cov. I can take three people with me in my car.

    What do you think?

It’s always sunny in Birmingham! Just that now and again the odd cloud gets in the way. 😉

Let us note what flight you’re on.

Dates are flexible guys, any time during that week would be good. The extra activity at BHX should run from 21st to around 29th. A list will be available of what extra traffic is due nearer the date but any day that week should be good.

Ren. Have a think and let me know, any day would be good.

Wys. Come up on another day that week if able, that way no loss of brownie points with Mrs. Wys. I’m only 40 mins from BHX so can get there to suit you guys.
