Hi, Cooper.
Ant has a point. There are P-40’s flying today. Why not display the wreckage as it is when recovered? Is this a particularly significant individual airframe? I’d be more interested in knowing about the pilot and maybe the raising of a Memorial. After all, the loss of a life is far more significant than the loss of an airframe, don’t you think?

Mmmmm….. Beginning to look like we’re on for another meet then.

Ren.
I think I might just join you for a few hours. We’ll sort something out nearer the date and I can get you to Myrtle Avenue or Hatton Cross if you don’t mind helping me out re the wheelchair if it’s necessary.

And a close-up……

Hi Steve.
Here’s a Titan 737 at BHX.

and fast forward to about 12 minutes 15 seconds to get the report. It is short but does show some worrying images regarding the damage to the Blenheim.

EAL KING.
As you know many people have criticised you over your lack of punctuation. But, you know, that report was great. Even without the punctuation it sounds like a breathless, excited account of two good flights and an enjoyable holiday.
Well done you!!!!!!!
Glad you had a good time.

Andy.
Right then, I’ll throw my camera away shall I?
Cracking photos, some superb shots there. I think the Lufthansa CRJ is great.

Kab,
many happy returns of the day!!!!!! Wys is right you know, you seem to have been here forever.

Having not seen the Blenheim in the air before I was delighted to see her at Legends. I took a really poor digital photo of her in the air and almost discarded it. Now I’m very glad I didn’t.
Glad the crew walked away from this one. Now let’s hope it’s not too long before we see her in the air again.

Dan.
Where were you when you took that shot?

Peter.
Being on crutches or in a wheelchair I can drive to the visitor centre facilities. I’d probably get killed trying to cross the main road to the garage.
Michael.
Something we agree on at last. In the morning as well it was so bright you struggled to see anything anyway. Like your Virgin photo, really moody.
Andy.
The barrier. Yes, I have to agree it does serve its purpose. The seats against the window seem useful as it appears you can only sit on them comfortably with your back to the window. Yes, the models. (Andy had to drag me away as the prices were in danger of giving me heart failure.)
LN Strike Eagle.
I take your point but it really hasn’t got that much for the enthusiast. Given the admitted restrictions on space, might they not have been able to incorporate some kind of elevated terrace into the desigh enabling those wishing to take photographs to at least have some kind of chance? I agree, Manchester is the exception. If the threat of a missile attack is a reason why aorport operators are trying to deny spectators elevated access then surely they should think again? Any terrorist planning to use a shoulder launched missile would have a far greater chance of success operating in a built up area on the approach or departure flightpath.

Then the second, just before touching down on 27 Left. Not really a difficult choice is it. I will use the visitor centre again, but only for the toilets or if I’m desperate for a drink.

Ah, the visitor’s centre. Fantastic building which will seat about thirty. Windows that distort the view and high priced drinks. Out side on the car park the strategicaly placed traffic barrier along the fence obscures some of the views. No seating and no shade, which on the 9th of August was a killer. And charged three pounds for the privelege of having a poor, obstructed view which makes photography almost impossible. One has to wonder how many spectators views were considered during the design of this white elephant.
The spectre of the 11th of September has made it easier for some airport authorities to marginalise the spectator. The Heathrow visitor centre is extremely poor in my opinion and I would be far happier to pay five pounds a day to park on Hatton Cross where the view is superb. An example is shown in the following two photos, the first of which was taken at the visitor centre.
Could it be a Stinson Reliant?…………. Or am I getting mixed up with a Reliant Robin?
