Regarding AC2 Jones, is there any possibility that a small stone plinth bearing a plaque to his memory could be sited somewhere within the Cemetery? This would negate the need for the families permission. Alternatively could a plaque be raised somewhere near the crash site?

How could a fault at one sub-station cause such widespread problems? And why were 9 nuclear power stations shut down? I can see the point of the airports having emergency power only to essential services, that makes sense, but wouldn’t other areas such as nuclear power stations have emergency back up as well?
You wouldn’t need many of those power cuts to bring the whole of North America into chaos. Glad things are getting back to normal.

I would have said the Wellington as I think almost everyone in Bomber Command spent some time in one didn’t they?
Then Manonthefence mentioned the Battle. He’s right. What a tribute that would be to those crews who faced overwhelming odds in France and still gave their best….. or their all.

Hi, Blue Robin.
I mentioned Geoff Wellum’s book a few weeks back. It is superbly written and portrays his joy of flight wonderfully. His descriptions of certain flights he undertook are absorbing and really take you along with him.
I would certainly reccomend this book.

Jesus does exist and I have met him. I had to escort him from my local hospital to an institution dealing with mental health problems. There he was sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
Well, he said he was Jesus.

A view across the green to Myrtle Avenue. You can just make out Dan330 and Jay330 walking back from the ice-cream van. Oh, and there’s a 747 in the background.
