Thought this would be unusual. Looking through the Lancaster fuselage section at the turret display.

I like this one. Always had a soft spot for the Hastings.

Another nice selection there. Really impressed with two in particular, the close up of Sally B and the Firefly. Catching the reflection of the roundel from the folded wing on the opposite tailplane is great.

Another good selection as always. Your compositions are often great, really fill the viewfinder and your motion shots are sharp too. A bit of editing in photoshop or some such can work wonders.

Do you run XP? I’d have my photos put on CD as well if I were you then you don’t have to scan them in. You can edit directly through ‘My Pictures’ or put them through something like photoshop.

Don’t get disheartened. Years ago I used to shoot roll after roll of film of rally cars and the results were far worse than what you’re getting now.

Very nasty, and I presume deadly for poor old Bambi.

Hope yourself and Mrs Moggy are suffering no ill effects as a result of your er…. altercation.

Don’t worry. Not surprised you were a bit heated though, I’m damned sure I would have been too if that had happened to me.

    Moggy.

Thanks for the explanation. A bit disturbed by the reference to “keeping them out of Roger Freeman’s hands” but I can see why you had to pull the thread. At least we got to see them, after all, that’s what photographs are for, looking at! Be interesting to see whether the 388th Association do produce something involving the photographs. On a personal level I feel it is dishonouring the veterans by not allowing these pictures to be seen.

Anyway, thanks again, Moggy. It was an honour and a privelege to see them, and without your intervention we may never have had the opportunity.

Nothing from the webmaster again then? A fantastic thread like that disappears for no apparent reason at all, with no explanation. While in the past on the AFM board people have been openly racist and made threats and allegations against each other with very little policing from the webmaster.

    Beggars belief really….

    Hi, Mongu.

    “I always assumed Kev35 was…35,”

Indeed he was once, but it all seems such a long time ago now….
When I registered for the forum my imagination totally deserted me and I could only come up with kev (original eh?) and tacked 35 on the end as that is my house number, or was it my IQ?

“Hopefully I don’t come accross as either juvenile or a boring old fart, not that I’d want to know if that were the case anyway!”

I think I probably come across as both in equal measure;)

A great selection of pictures, quality will always out. You say you’re interested in the historic side? Please feel free to post them on the flypast forum. We’re a friendly bunch and I know they’d be appreciated.

    Martin.

First of all, I apologise because I hadn’t seen your apology to Moondance, that was posted while I was still typing. I’m getting old now and can’t keep up with you youngsters.

“Have you not read my posts? I have flown with 19 female pilots, I have a huge amount of respect for them. I am not judging them at all.”

I should think so too, especially as one of them was your mum!

“Now the whole issue about this nosewheel coming down hard, you cannot even try and tell me that it is perfectly normal for oxygen masks to come down because the nosewheel hits the ground..”

No, but your reason for that occurrence is given as being that the pilot was female. It is a provocative statement.

“A horror story…I think so, you have judged me on a badly put first post, I looked back and it is pretty scathing, but like I said that is not how it was meant to be, it was meant to be a light hearted post, it just went wrong and got taken the wrong way.”

I accept that, we all make mistakes or get involved in misunderstandings. Maybe it’s me and my advancing years….

“GIVE ME A BREAK, I MADE ONE BAD POST AND I GET THIS CRAP, it’s pathetic, how many times do I have to say, Imeant it in a light hearted manner,”

I have not been nasty, abusive or aggressive towards you at all, just trying to point out what I saw as questionable statements.

“I’ve apologised twice, now why can you just accept I made a mistake and forget about it.”

Well, go on then, seeing as it’s you. 🙂 And, I do sincerely wish you all the best in your chosen career. It will be a magnificent achievment for you.

    Hi, Martin.

Turned into a bit of a horror story hasn’t it?

“Whiskey Delta, I’m starting to feel that your comments are getting personal, I was not listeaning in to the conversation, I was an active part of this conversation with the pilots.”

I don’t think he’s being personal at all, just questioning your total lack of discretion by discussing this on an open forum. I presume these pilots still have their jobs but they probably wouldn’t be too happy about you sharing with the world the story of the day they taxied onto the ramp at 60 knots.

“I’ve also flown many T-Tail aircraft in my time and this nosewheel was slammed down at a much greater force than is usual.”

How many hours flying 146’s, Dash 8’s, MD80’s etc etc? Or do you actually mean flown in?

“I don’t think it is your place to start judging me or situations that I have been in when you do not know me or have not been present.”

Yes, Martin, I agree with you about rash judgements, such as those you’ve made about female pilots.
