RE: For those of you condemning the assasination

So we are doing whatever we can to stop those that threaten us.”
Over the years we in Great Britain have suffered from terrorism. Hundreds of British soldiers and civilians have died at the hands of terrorists of various political and religious persuasions so I don’t think you can accuse us of misunderstanding America’s reaction to September 11th. Remember there were hundreds of foreign nationals killed there. You were threatened and you were hurt and Afghanistan bore the brunt of your response. But has it really made the world a safer place? Assassination in Jordan, explosion aboard an oil tanker, attack on US troops in Kuwait and the Bali bombings certainly do nothing to suggest the world is a safer place do they? Britain has been greviously hurt by terrorism, even to the point of an attack on the government of the time. From America’s reaction are we to assume that an American solution to this problem would have been sustained air attacks on Belfast?
Now, six guys in a car are dead and if they are terrorists I suppose it’s all for the best. But are you sure they were terrorists? And how do you justify such action while condemning Israel for doing the same? And why do you feel so comfortable pursuing the war against terror outside America when you have still not tracked down those responsible for the anthrax attacks?
I fully expect to be attacked now as a weak minded European but in the current world climate that’s the response I expect for even hinting that America’s actions may be a cause for concern.
