😮 😮 😮 Poor guinea pigs! How come they were just vaporized like that?

PS: I just went through me old Firepower magazine “Guns of the Iowa”. It stated that, modern Anti-ship missiles would have been no match for the mighty battleships. Because of their massive armor, at most those missiles could create just small dent (Without nuclear weapons that is). But, one shot from a 16 or 18 inch gun would smash any of todays advanced war ships. Plus the Iowa carried 16 inch 1020 shells 😮 :diablo: :dev2:

I don’t know that they’d smash today’s warships so much as penetrate through to the other side.

Why a triangle? It could be a square, or a hexagon.

I thought it was because the area is very well known for tropical storms and bad weather that causes ships to sink and planes to crash, legends and made up stories have been circulated making it look as if wreckage/no trace was ever found etc but in a lot of cases it was and the cause was determined…..
I also think the triangle sits on a ocean trench, large amounts of gases are released to the surface causing vacumm like effects and very unstable waters that cant support a ship, the unpredictable weather pattern can include water-spouts and sudden storms which can equal trouble for ships and aircraft.

Hmm, did they ever survey the area if the location is roughly known? I guess the Bermuda triangle isn’t really a problem for modern day travelers, as much as was say < 1940s.

Wow! Awesome screenshots, thanks! Just curious, if you’re attacking a ship, can you actually see the flak guns being manned and fired, or does it not go into that much detail?

Just because the USA is fighting a war on terror today doesn’t mean the USA will not be fighting a conventional war tomorrow that will acquire new attack submarines.

Ah, but they said in the article, ‘ “We cannot ever blink. We cannot ever flinch. We cannot yield,” said Warner, a former Navy secretary. “This ship will very definitely play a role in that war on terror.” ‘

    and

The $2.2 billion nuclear-powered USS Virginia differs from other submarines because it can not only roam the ocean depths but also get close to shore in shallow water, which Navy officials say is important in fighting terrorism.

I doubt that the Virginia will be able to play a better war on terror than say, the existing Seawolf or 688 boats.

I really don’t see how a $2 billion sub is going to help the war on terror. $2 billion would go a long way towards purchasing more interceptor plates, or armored Humvees.
