Dying in a submarine has got to be one of the worst ways to go out. At least on a ship or plane, you could jump or eject and hope for the best int the sea or in the air, but def. not at 20,000 leagues under the sea.
poor souls, whether they be Chinese, Russian, or any other nationality, they’re all humans.
Which brings me to wonder, why do ppl like being submariners? having to stay below the surface for months at a time smelling recycled farts, that would be enough to drive me away.

No no, I was just worried I was spending too much time on forums in general. But no need to delete my account, I’ll just post less.

Haha, I don’t remember what airline it was, but the European nature of this board is definitely having its subtle influences on me!

Thanks Garry- would you happen to know what the blast radius of a single 122mm Grad is? I estimated from a Vietnam War photo for it to be about ~4m radius.
Yah, the Russians had a S-23 M-1955 180mm gun howitzer, you’re absolutely correct. Monster of a gun, adapted from a pre-war naval gun I believe. One was captured by the Israelis from the Egyptians.

Ah, I haven’t counted the ballistic missiles yet. I’m not sure if NK would use those in a retaliatory strike, well, perhaps they would use some, but not all. Probably not with a high explosive warhead, but a CW one. Ah great, more calculations to do.
regards,

Hi Alastair,
Thanks for the reply. From my initial research so far, the media reports of 500,000 shells an hour on Seoul are grossly exaggerated. Only the Koksan 170mm gun has the range with a 60km RAP shell, and the 240mmMLRS may just be able to make it.
