    Not at all.

    The communiqué from the Club makes it very clear that the Moth Rally, on the scale of those of the past, will not be happening again.

    Hmm. It doesn’t tell us much, does it?

    It tells us that operation of historic jets is only to become more difficult, especially in the light of Martin-Baker’s recent decision to cease supporting legacy seats which are no longer in military service.

    The Vulcan was never supposed to be transferred to a profit making company..

    It is very much an Ezell rebuild, with innovative engineering solutions for solving shortages of ‘weird’ British parts and making the aircraft more operable in the US environment. Perfectly legal under the FAA’s Experimental category, impossible to certify on a CAA permit.

    Why?

    The present system works, and makes it viable to ‘rebuild’ aircraft as they have commercial value afterwards. Just lookn at the ‘original’ Mk I Spitfire auctioned earlier this year.

    Without this, as modern replicas, the value would be less than the cost to build, and we would have no Mk I Spitfires, P-51Bs and Cs, etc.
