I believe that the Clay Lacy/Museum of Flight DC-2 at Boeing Field, Seattle still flies on occasion.
I wonder how many of them they actually paid the licence fee on?
As with all things Duxford-related, it was covered in the main thread.

It was great to see the Li-2 at Lee-on-Solent earlier this week, it certainly has a different look to the engines and props than the rest of the DC-3 variants that were present.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know when the last visit by one to the UK was?
What connection does the B-29 have to D-Day? Far more appropriate to see the C-47s that have come across from the US for the commemorations. If a B-17 was considered appropriate, there is one much closer to home that could have been booked.
Yes, assuming they remember to renew the Permit this time.
The latest salvo from Douglas Bader House:
As Chief Executive, I wish to make clear the following:
•We recognise the Vulcan’s importance to the UK and from the outset of their project we have assisted the laudable efforts of the VTTS team in many different ways. We consider ourselves to be among its many supporters and as such, have funded its participation in every Air Tattoo since 558 took to the sky again.
•RIAT is and always will be an international military air show. It relies almost entirely on the goodwill of overseas air forces taking part with aircraft from around the world and predominantly at their expense. This year we have been allocated a host of fantastic aircraft that, along with aircraft that are funded by important sponsors, have filled our flying display programmes on all three days.
•We are genuinely sorry that our offer to pay for the Vulcan to attend as a static exhibit and to provide, without charge, valuable exhibition space for the Vulcan Village over three days, has been turned down by VTTS. This offer remains, even though it would be at considerable cost to our RAF Charitable Trust owned organisation.
•As the company has gone about promoting, planning and selling tickets for RIAT 2014, we have not suggested in any of our activities that the Vulcan will be a participant. Our website is updated each Thursday at midday with participating aircraft when they have been officially confirmed; it can be viewed here.Tim Prince

The abusive posts made on the RIAT and VTTS Facebook pages in the last few days amply illustrate my point about the rather unpleasant type of Xenophobic Little Englander that the Vulcan attracts.
Can you think of another airshow act that feels obliged to turn down a static appearance at a major airshow and a major money-making opportunity for fear of the abuse their staff will incur at the hands of their so-called ‘supporters’?
Yes, and yes.
Ah yes, I’d forgotten the old argument that you’re not a true aviation enthusiast unless you prostate yourself before the great God Vulcan.
So is the Parnall Elf
………seeing a very significant historic type flying……….
Apologies, I thought we were talking about the Vulcan.
This whole fandango surrounding the Vulcan reminds me of the shirtless, Sun-reading yobs that used to frequent Grand Prix circuits during the Mansell years. Fortunately they soon crawled back to their council estates once ‘Our Nige’ retired, and I’m sure the same thing will happen in about 16 months once the Vulcan has been parked for the last time. Then they’ll all have to find something else to obsess about outside the football season, I suppose.
You’ll miss the supposed Meteor Me 262 duo 🙂
Which are at Farnborough only, not RIAT
Veri interesting thread, thanks for kicking off the discussion Stepwilk
The Heavies only made one trip a night to Germany, whereas it was not unusual for Mosquitos to make several trip a night….
Is this really true? Mosquitos making more than one trip into Germany in a single night?
I’m also intrigued as to the mention of torpedo trails undertaken by Mosquitos, is there any more information on this available?
