Exactly David. It does seem rather strange, a type built in relatively small numbers, already well represented in the collection, kept in the open at a remote site from the main museum. To be perfectly honest, they would be better placed using their limited resources to look after the airframes they already have, some of which were in less than pristine condition the last time I visited.
My own effort – Blackburn Roc – The True Victor of the Battle of Britain is almost complete
You’ve nearly got both pages done already?
Why do Brooklands want a second one?
This also brought back a few memories yesterday!
On one of the TriStars?
Any news on the future of the one currently in the Falklands. Will it be returning to the UK?
2 x BBMF Spitfires have landed at Newcastle for the night if that helps.
Better keep a good eye on them, I hope they’ll still be there in the morning.
…..apart from the Provost!
Is the one in the Falklands still coming back to the UK?
A Mk XIX with a 4 bladed prop?
The prop has 5 blades. (Either that, or 4 very, very short ones! 😉 )
Presumably you’re working on the principle that the more threads you start asking the exact same question, the quicker it will be finished? 🙂
Try that with an Alfa, a Ferrari or a Duesenberg–or a Camaro, for that matter–and see how far you get.
Or a DB4 GT Zagato?
Or if he hadn’t made a mistake and busted the deadline on Friday he would have been up there at the start. I’d say that it’s no coincidence that Stevo flew a flawless week, and emerged as Champion yet again. Looking at his racing line in each race, he seemed to be on rails, and matched his speed to keep just as far ahead of the competition as he needed to.
Maybe, maybe not, there is a rumour that the Museum has got cold feet!
As I understand the situation, not so much a case of ‘cold feet’, rather an inability to get the transaction transferring an aircraft to Coulson in trade (C-130?) signed off
Perhaps Mr. Weeks might be interested, to keep his Sunderland company? 😉
Has anyone asked Richard Branson?
Would the BBMF be interested?
…..and all the other old chestnuts. 🙂
