    Ken certainly has an impressive stock of Merlin cores and parts, I visited his operation at San Martin a few years back. Not to mention the various aircraft restoration projects he has in storage (from memory these included Corsair, Spitfire, Hurricane, B-25, L-39s, CAC Mustang wings)

    I think our local authority should introduce that idea in respect of EGTK.

    I think that article 9 of the forum code of conduct (ban on using textspeak) should be extended to cover aerodrome codes, for the benefit of those of us tho don’t carry the entire ICAO directory of 4-letter codes around in our heads.

    Why on earth would the DAS British Civil Airliner collection want to repaint an aircraft to fake it up into a military scheme that it never wore?

    Long gone. Sold to Germany a few years back, flown, damaged, and currently being hacked about to make a pseudo-2 seater 109 with a DB engine.

    I wonder what the future holds for a number of ‘unloved’ exhibits at Duxford, such as the Victor, Shackleton, Casa 2111, and those due to be ousted from the AAM in this summer’s reorganisation.

    Nice to see the conservation area of AirSpace being used for actual conservation! The repainting of the 111 was delayed a year by the storm damage to the building last year, apparently they can only spare the space for a few days each January.

    I would think that going to the CAA with a proposal to use 3D-printed parts in an airworthy restoration would result in an interesting, if extremely short, conversation.

    Not in anything like the form we know today. It is a postwar aircraft, however far you try (and fail) to stretch the point.

    No you can’t. However much you ‘stretch the rules’, B-52s, Canberras and C-130s are not ‘WW2 era aircraft’ in any way, shape or form.
