Only able to be viewed by registered users, so not much use I’m afraid. Perhaps you can tell us what it is?
And displace the market? Very costly, very impractical.
Around 50 minutes, including the ‘dawn patrol’ slot when many visitors are still queuing for the car parks

You have to admit, a minumum ticket price of seventy quid a day is a lot for an hour’s flying in total though!
And Southend was supposed to be ‘revived’ last year too and then fell through, so we’ll have to wait and see on that one.
I’d say that Southend must still be doubtful, and Goodwood isn’t really an airshow, more of a sideshow to a car event which is priced well above the range of most mere mortals.
Less busy now that both this and the propsed Northolt event have both bitten the dust. A shame. 🙁
Hopefully they’ll restart it again after the current ‘murican kick is done next year.
That’s good to hear, I missed that Brian. Has it gone back into storage again now?
I’m not sure that it needs ‘refurbishing’ as it is effectively a newly-built room.
The restoration was stopped around a decade or so ago.
The first floor office was open to access the viewing gallery by the Fokker D VII for the press preview last week. I’m not sure whether it is planned to have it open regularly.
And what has changed?
The Seafire XV project at North Weald popped up on the register yesterday
This situation sounds like its a byproduct of the recent centralisation of control over all RN museums.
Interesting. I wasn’t aware of that. Perhaps we’re getting nearer to understanding the background as to what’s going on here. So the new requirements may not be coming from the FAA Museum themselves directly.
Sounds to me as if there is something else at play here. I smell politics.
It does sound that way to me Bruce.
However, if it really is just a case of raising the funding for an insurance policy to cover the premium on a £50k value, and the other issues can be overcome (if there even is a will from the FAAM side to resolve them, as there certainly does seem to be from the Bluebird guys), I’m sure the members of this forum could step in with a donation. I’d certainly be willing to chuck a few quid into the pot to start the ball rolling.
The main question is, what is the FAAM’s true position (and reasoning) on their requirements?
