Your office must be real close to mine then!
Yeah, I saw the same thing, definitively MK732 showing its stuff. There is an event held at the football fields between the Gooiseweg and Duivendrecht and I’ve got a feeling this was related: European Controllers cup 2007
Delta Lloyd, next to the Amstel Station. 8th floor I am looking at the Gooiseweg (when not working of course).:p

Some pics of the seat being made by a friend of mine
Progress is swift these days.

Thanks Peter
Now I only have the pilot’s compartment to worry about, things can speed up a bit.:D
The pilot’s seat is hopefully ready before long.

Yesterday I picked up the side angles for the engine control duct. This
is fitted next to the pilot chassis which is already finished. The engine
cables etc. run through this and a lot of items such as the throttle box
trunk and box as well as the trimming consoles are mounted on it.
All I have to do now is rivet the thing together. Also some of the front
windscreen frames are finished now so the thing is growing albeit in
component form at the moment.

Come on, someone must know?
Elliott, any idea where the serialnumber for the Whitley is located? Or is there no such thing as a RAF-serialplate. the Spitfire and Hurricane do have one. Is this different on the bigger types?
Cees
Yes, that would be nice as well.
But double the engines and the costs will multiply by four I think.
The Tempest jigs can be used to reconvert some back to Tiffy status. Scratch some new wings and presto!.
Is there a market for such aircraft (the list I mentioned in the initial post)?
Cees
Thanks for the info. So the model is not really wrong. We can say that some, if not all, of the special Lancasters of 617 used for the Dams raid, had this FN64 installation.
If not a help for aircraft model makers, this snippet remains a help for those just generally interested in the variations and modifications of type.
I believe the aperture for the underturret was kept but faired over. When we recovered sections of fuselage from a Mk III Lanc, this hole was very obvious. We thought it was the dorsal turret position but some things didn’t match up:D

Gibson’s aircraft def. survived WW11 and I have a picture of it in one of my numerous books at home taken on a very snowy airfield during 1947.
Soon after it was scrapped! 😮
Oh the short-sightedness of those years (hindsight of course is a great thing!)
AFAIK the aircraft were not converted back to standard because of the intensive modifications. Some were kept in storage in case the Upkeep mine would be needed but this never materialised. The remaining aircraft were scrapped during 1945/1946.

Mark,
Are you still working on a Mossie panel?

Mark
So you bought it:dev2:
Cees
IIRC there was a pic of this aircraft in an old flypast article. Is this the same wreck a group of ATC cadets tried to dig out as well. Could it be Tetney Sands as well?
From memory mind you
Cees
You can always give AL682 a shout!

Thanks for the link Phil, nice site.
My 1/32 Halifax is very slowly progressing but nothing compared to
your attention to detail though.
