I know the Mirage 2000D can carry CC630 gun pods, but I’m not sure if the 2000-5 series is cleared for them or not.
Taiwanese Mirage 2000-5Di two seaters carry the CC630 30 mm two gun pod on the centerline, as they lack internal guns.

Also did the Mig 21 ever fly against the Mirage-F1 ? Any idea on who won or who would have won in case of an encounter ?
SAAF Mirage F1s shot down at least 3 Angolan MiG-21s:

First, learn to write properly in English. This is a forum, not a messenger chat.
Second, you’d better start reading what you post
http://mnweekly.ru/national/20081218/55361863.html
The article is about the fact that Romanian, Bulgarian and Croatian MiG-21s will be soon retired.
Russian (better said Soviet) ones were retired more than two decades ago
Regardless, looks like this thread will be turned into another Bison vs F-7 pissing contest 😡
5. those 2 falcons were target towing falcons infact back in 1987 i fired matra magic A/A which was wired to my Mig-25 on a target towed by one of them in the western desert off H3
Another load of crap from the guy pretending to be a former IRAF pilot.
1. NOBODY SHOOTS AAMs AT TARGETS TOWED BY MANNED AIRCRAFT !!! The risk of hitting the tow airplane is just too big. Towed targets are used only for gunnery practice – both on-board guns of aircraft or ground AAA.
2. Matra Magic was never integrated on MiG-25 in Iraq, nor anywhere else.
😮
Now calm down. Don’t let the title make you cringe. :diablo: Let me explain…
There are a lot of airforces in the world with only a basic equipment fit. A few dozen Mig-21s, a coupla choppers, and a rusty C-130 in most cases. Some are attempting to upgrade to newer models, but I was wondering: The latest models of Russian SAMs (S-400 series I think it’s called) are said to be a whole new level of deadly.
For a lot of the smaller third-world nations, wouldn’t it make a lot more sense just to invest in the latest SAM designs than to try to plog along on some third-hand aircraft while saving money?
What advantages do Fighters have over SAMs when it comes to defending a sovereign airspace, especially today with the new SAMs and Stealth?
I’m sorry, but your reasoning is flawed. Most third-world countries (basically all of sub-saharan Africa except South Africa) and many in south-east Asia are confronted with internal unrest (civil war, insurgents, rebels, etc.) Aerial sovereignty is low on their priority list – most don’t even have the necessary radar coverage to detect any airspace violations anyway.
They need ground attackers – that’s why the most purchased combat aircraft in sub-saharan Africa for the last decade has been the Su-25, not the MiG-29. Not to mention that almost everybody in the region has a few Mi-24s…
Also, in Central and South America a Tucano / A-37B / Bronco will always be cheaper and more effective in dealing with drug-runners aircraft than any SAM system, present or future.
Bison used the 490L drop tank of the -bis from what I gather whereas the others were set for 720-800L tanks which fall in line with the -MF versions.
Any MiG-21 MF/bis/Lancer/Bison can carry an 800 liter or 490 liter fuel tank on the centerline and two 490 liter ones on the outboard wing pylons.
There is absolutely no diference in capability regarding external fuel carriage between bis and M/MF.
As for internal fuel, the bis carries a bit more than the MF.
J-7 has less internal fuel (obviously sice it lacks the the spine tank), plus the large centerline tank has only 720 liters, not 800.
I am not sure whether they were interested or not since there was no suitable BVR missile available in the first place. Derby was not complete at that time and what other missile could have been integrated with the EL/M-2032?. AMRAAM, maybe?
Depends on what you mean by “at the time”. For example the Magic II was integrated in 2003, Python III right from the start of the program (mid-90’s). Since the Lancer has an “open architecture” system, there is no problem to integrate AMRAAM, Derby, but there is:
a. no money and
b. no requirement
It would have been interesting to see Bison or Lancer with a minimum of the Derby compared to the J-7PG’s R-77, but neither will ever see that ability as both are pretty much at the end of their useful lives.
They all three use the same family of jammer then.
Please stop writing nonsense. The Pakistani AF F-7PG does not have R-77 capability, nor Israeli jammers.
Venezuela, and a few Brazilian F-5BR flying along
Actually those are Chilean F-5 E Tiger III
Sudanese examples are most likely no longer operational.
