I’ll bite……
Is at a (the) Sea Fury, G-FURY?
Checking my logbook, the Provost is indeed WW421/7688M and the Vampire XK624. I have no record or recollection of any gliders.
One would have thought buying Nimrods without BAE support would have increased their value and capability.
I’m ex Woodford and Nimrod was a superb aircraft…..but that was a long time ago.
I took this about 1970ish and as far as I remember it was taken in a museum in Lytham St Annes near Blackpool,I will search for other pictures !!
Have you not answered your own question? Presumably you’re asking where are they now.
I immediately thought of Lytham when seeing the photo even though I’d only visited once. I have a log of the place at home if you still need serials.
If its exceptionally cold out will they be looking for more fuel?
Thinking about it, its perhaps a good balance as there usually is more ‘fuel’ during a cold spell.

I heard a group of female referees set out for FA headquarters to lodge a complaint……..but got lost on the way!
Harmless non-pc fun.
On a similar theme, How can Come Fly With Me do a dressing up as an asian yet years ago Black and White Minstrels got banned?

How many people really do check if their life jacket is really under their seat
Edit Safety cards is different nobody reads them anyway
What do you mean the life jacket is under the seat? Where’s the parachute then????
Best in comfort, BA business class 777 LHR to Phoenix. Most enjoyable Aeroflot 62 Tashkent to Leningrad or being shaken all over the sky in a Balkan An24 from Sofia to Varna. Kuwaiti LHR to JFK and Alaska Phoenix to Seattle remain in my memory for the style of the stews.
Worst, nothing much but disliked being cramped in an AF S340 CDG to STN. Its mostly long delays in airports (without windows) waiting for a flight that irritates. The old Athens was the worst but the Dan Air breakfast made up for it.
oh, OK, wasn’t counting the bitty stuff or the non BAE conversions.
Amazing to think when I started watchin aircraft there were…
Kingston, Dunsfold, Weybridge, Filton, Yeovil, Weston?, Hurn, Hatfield, Woodford, Chadderton, Hawarden, Samlesbury, Warton, Prestwick, Brough, Holme on Spalding Moor, Bitteswell, Cardington, Belfast, Slingsbys place and others….
And then there were …….
Would it be correct to say that this is the only location to have had continuous aircraft manufacturing activity on the same site for 100 years?
Ned
Not wanting to nitpick (though I will :)) but what happened between the last Concorde and the first big Airbus wing?
Hmm, thought I recognised Tinker from those photos though he looks much younger than he did in Lovejoy, which my memory says is after Sweeney. Both great series though.
I had a Consul for a couple of years and it was the most comfortable car I’ve ever had. It rusted to nothing very quickly though.

Is university education necessary for everyone that aspires to more than bog cleaning?
In my time as a manager, I have sifted through perhaps a thousand CVs for around 40 posts. I have never, and would never, show priority for those with a university education. What is/was important for me as an employer is whether the candidate had the desire and ability to do the job. Far too many times I was presented with candidates that had irrelevant degrees and no interest in the position.
I believe we need a move to more on the job training/apprenticeships with employers willing to invest time and money into their staff. The difficulty I see is the short term views by shareholders resulting in lack of investment and the amount, and frequency of change, of red tape and ‘schemes’ by government.
