Not good news hope that her injurys are not as bad as the report suggests. And as I did race brakedown recovery at Thruxton circuit for sixteen years my thoughts are also with those at the incident.

The most hart breaking bit for me is that the 28th is just the day he went missing, we dont know how long he waited by the aircraft before he tried to walk out. And who knows if he hadn’t got lost and had servived the war he could be still with us down the pub telling his war storys. I hope he comes home and rests in peace I for one will always think of him.

Thats very good news, such dedication from the ARID team to not only search in such a harsh place but to also have the satisfaction of finding a man missing for a few days short of seventy years well done to them. I must admit it was this story that led to me joining the forum and although I havent posted much i’ve followed this story from the start.

Ah the good old EA-7 optica, I worked at old sarum as an aircraft grp laminator in the mid 80’s up until the loss of the first one we sold in a crash at ringwood that sadly killed the two police officers on board. I actual not only went up in the prototype I got a bit of stick wiggleing in as well:) and sat in the middle seat you could lean forward and look back at the main wheels gently spinning in the slipstream! it was like flying around in a goldfish bowl! Oh and as to the crash it ended up in a copse of trees after stalling a wing at low altitude and a very high angle of bank and entered an inverted spin that was unrecoverable with the hight in hand. the aircraft was not found to be at fault.
