I always love spending time reading user comments on the Telegraph website when it comes to French or even European related concerns. Just order them by best rating and read the first input (Cassandra1963). It’s really worth its weight in gold.

    Old “news” anyway.

    From a more geopolitical/ideological PoV…

Here are two long (as always) geopolitical/ideological analyses from dedefensa.org (a Belgian/French website specialised in geopolitical analysis).

    1) A view over MMRCA downselect : The Rafale and the (accidental) India-Libya axis

    2) (Over)reaction to Christina MacKenzie’s blog entry on Ares : Everything for the Typhoon

But I’m afraid most of the line of argument will be lost in (Google’s) translation.

I remember hearing from a rafale pilot that spectra is being able to locate radar emissions at far greater range than a radar would pick up the rafale (…).

Which is perfectly logical from a physics perspective and, as a general rule, true of any RWR.

We’re not politicians, especially not US congressmen, so you might use more refined criteria than so-called, self-defined “generations”.

We’re in for another Told You So contest, it seems…

Capabilities aside, I’d bet on an EF victory given the unrivalled experience of Dassault/DGA execs in messing up any kind of deal involving the Rafale. Once bitten…

I, for one, am glad a European solution will be chosen in the end. It shows Europe still has cards to play on the global market when it comes to high tech and sensible technology.

I will be happy as long as one of those two finally takes the cake. Too bad for our Swedinsh cousins, though. Brazil maybe?

[EDIT]Let’s hope the money will fuel R&D investment in either EADS or Dassault, so our engineers will have the means to reach their aims.

Fanboyism + poor understanding of English + poor understanding of humour + poor knowledge of Trimble’s stance = paranoia & misplaced reactions.

Rien de nouveau sous le soleil, please move on…

    That pic is obviously Photoshopped.

I guess you can tell this from some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few shops in your time?
