Hi Ian and MartynP:
I’ve been looking for a F-106 grip for a long time. 102 grips show up more commonly. Not sure why that is. The very few 106 grips that appeared on Ebay brought princely sums. Below are some pics of the last one I’m aware of that sold. And no, it ain’t mine….

Regardless of which aircraft it was originally mounted in, that is a nice acquisition Ian….
On US Ebay–this appears to be a pretty good buy:

Congratulations Dade; very nice indeed.
PhilRedfern: Someone more qualified than I can comment on your WWII German grip. Congrats on the acquisition. Any such grip is a great collectible.
Very nice and impressive work Visotka1, on both the HUD and the Yak 42 cap.
Thought I’d share this latest restoration of a control wheel from a DHC Beaver. This one is a little outside of what I normally collect but is a nice addition.
Hello all. Observation: Seems like a lot less activity on this thread since the site was revamped.
Just wondering if anyone on this site might have a PBY Catalina wheel they might be willing to part with?
Thanks Tony….much appreciated. I should have remembered that.
Thank you Mike, much appreciated.
Hi all:
I’m currently fabricating the components for the switch assembly shown in the photo, as mounted in PBY Catalinas flown by the British Navy. I’m hoping someone on the forum can tell me (with certainty) what the function of the switch was. It seems rather massive to have simply been a MIC switch.

Impressive craftsmanship Visotka1. Congratulations!
In case anyone has an interest in a nicely priced original cap for a KC135, in reasonably decent shape.
Hi Andy. Welcome to the forum. I’ve seen a fair number of posts on this site dealing with Tornado grips. And some of the members may be able to help you out with parts….many of them collect grips and are very knowledgeable. You may want to do a search or just scroll back through the pages….you’ll find posts dealing with Tornado grips along with photos. I’m more into control wheels/yokes (bombers, transports, airliners etc.) and have collected and/or restored a fair number of them. Sounds like you’re a little more ambitious than I am…doing cockpit recreations.
On a completely different note, my youngest daughter recently moved up not all that far from your neck of the woods. She’s in a PhD biology program in Regina, SK.
MartynP: That wheel might also be originate from the PBM Mariner (also a Martin product).
