thanks. Quite an innovative approach.
in fact the VTOL character of CANTAS is similar to Convair XFY Pogo, there are no tilt rotors, jet nozzles with thrust vectoring or flexible engine mounting in construction. CANTAS has original autopilot system with automatic stabilization for hoovering, it can operate in full autonomic regime with possibility to set up or change trajectory during fly by operator or can be controlled manually. The control station can transmit data and commands for several UAVs at once, and it can also receive them. The image and all the data from the aircraft’s avionics, sensors, reconnaissance systems and cameras are transmitted to the control centre using UHV-VHF technology in real time. The range of the communication system is over 100 km.

E – Endurance (VTOL) – reconn/surveillance/monitoring/patrolling UAV, two electric engines and one combustion engine, 160 km/h top speed, flight time of up to 18 hours, maximum take-off weight of 65 kg.
S – Speed (non VTOL) – UAV/training aerial target/guided kamikaze dron with warhead, one jet engine TJ40-G1, 460 km/h top speed, maximum flight time of 40 minutes, maximum take-off weight of 63 kg.

Czech Air Force contingent of pilots and technicians in Iraq will support L-159s and their Iraqi pilots and technicians right there from june 2016 till december 2018, Czech goverment has confirmed plan today.
Jan Vlček, long time chief designer and constructor of Aero Vodochody and chief designer and constructor of L-29 and L-39, suggested many interesting projects of training and attact planes, for example like this L-19T Kantor from 1981 (comparition with L-39MS)

At last, Britons have ended blocking of L-159 with RWR delivery. Further Alcas come in Iraq till june. Firts batch of Iraqi pilots and technicians has finnished their training in the Czechlands few days ago. Czech Army will send pilot-instructors and technicians in Iraq in june… By the way, first two L-159 were delivered without RWR
Hope there are no fatalities.
fortunately just light injuries… all soldiers are ok.
