Most were Recon and Sigint. And all were Overflight (hence defense Cz forces were free to engage).
I know that some sorties were escorted, en route or on the return leg with sometime fighter crossing the fence to help a returning damaged airplane lumbering toward friendly lines, but not that I remember in Europe.

    have a read here:
    http://www.talkingproud.us/Military/Military/AirborneRecce.html

Here are some of the reported losses:

As you can see, none are fighter aircraft as such.

absolutely not relevant information, and proof that situation over Czechoslovak west border is not well known. You know nothing, man…. Border of Czechoslovakia and east Germany was much more hot than any Soviet, but almost nobody know it….

There is list of all Czechoslovak air force checks (all are archived by official Czech Army Historical Institute)

    http://aces.safarikovi.org/victories/czech-cold.html

examples of those checks, even fighter was shot down first of all. First shot down was confirmed by USAFE and US diplomacy has protested… Here is my translation (sorry for my English)

    10. 3. 1953 there was common flight daybe of 5. SLP (fighter regiment) at Plzeň-Líně AB. At 10:45 S-102 couple of 2nd squadron of 5. SLP take off. Leader is por. Jaroslav Šrámek (plane mark NO-37), which has as a number por. Milan Forst. Their task is standart training attact practising in Merklín vilage area south-west of airport at 3500-4000 m flying height. At 10:59 cca 20 kilometers south of Plzeň town, and then about 35 kilometers from state borderline, F-84E Thunderjets couple from 53. FBS of 36. TFW reveal below left upright on S-102s flight axis having base at the airport Fürstenfeldbrück not far from Munich. Leader of that formation is 1st/Lt. Warren G. A. Brown.

Por. Šrámek report on command post at once to Plzeň-Líně, from where he got order to discharge cautionary fire in front of F-84s. At once he give a order to por. Forst make tight formation and start to stretch the cannons. USAF pilots in the meantime already disclose danger from higher volant Czechoslovak S-102s, turn back and immediately divide their formation. While leadership keep the left turning, his number make to the right climbing combat turn and herewith manoeuvre he escape succesfully. Por. Šrámek after failure cautionary fire get permition to start live shooting. He sight right wing of Brown´s Thunderjet.

Short burst from two 23mm NS-23 cannons hits the oval tank at the wing end and it means well visible white strip of fading fluel. Brown switches tactics and strive in falling to pick up flying speed and escape to the south. S-102 however is quicker and por. Šrámek soon catch impaired F-84 again. Situation is considerably not providing an easy survey. Below aeroplanes is already continuous cloud cover, into this from time to time aeroplanes for short time plunge. Por. Šrámek knows, that state boundary must be already near that is why at 11:04 fire from 300-200 m second burst. This time use 37 mm NS-37 cannon and hit F-84 fuselage behind cocpit. Smoke together with blaze appear from thunderjet and it suddenly falls into clouds. Šrámek subsequently perform rampant turning left and find out, that his number isn´t in formation.

Por. Forst couldn´t keep formation with his leader from the start of manouevring in spite of maximum engine output draw. Subsequently Forst even see second thunderjet, but that manages to hide into scowd in time. Independently from each other both S-102 pilots take 360° turn and por. Šrámek in addition request three times to be located from ground radar station, in order to determines of his position. Then both pilots land separately on Plzeň-Líně AB approximately at 11:20. The second F-84E comes back to its base in Fürstenfeldbrück.

Both sides at once file the expostulatory note. Americans assert, that the fight has happened in Bavaria, Czechoslovak officials on the contrary have said, that the shooting got over Czechoslovakia and shot down aeroplane only fell to the Bavaria, whit is true. 1st/Lt Brown was injured and eject himself from the plane. His thujderjet hit s surface 36km from state boundary near Falkenstein town so it´s then very probable, that Šrámek have fired his second burst already immediately behind state boundary above German territory. It was the first shot down over Czechoslovak – German border of the cold war.

Czechoslovak Air force even got two intact thunderjets!!! 8.6.1951, 1st/Lt Lutter Rolland and his number with F-84E have landed on military base Prague-Kbely (sic!!!!) when they lost orientation and for low fuel have landed on the first airport seen!!!They weren´t shot down, because Czechoslovak Air Force had at that time only old Avia S-199, the first MiG-15 have come later.

March 1954 por. Zdeněk Voleman with S-103 (Mig-15bis) shot down a US P2V Neptune, the plane fell in German territory again (but historians still don´t know for sure if it was a neptune or another two engines powered aircraft, Voleman couldn´t recognize that). The Americans have never confirmed this one (and more later)) but there is a piece of the aircraft in museum.

12.8. 1954 some US training plane was shot down

12.10.1959, Italian F-84F Some lieutnant De Mayo lost orientation over the Alps and was intercepted by MiG-19s of Czech pilots J. Faix and J. Bureš over Czech-German border, compeled to land on Hradec Králové air base. He was totally confused and his the first reaction to the first word what he heard – “Czechoslovakia” after landig was typical Italian(according to eyewitness) “Mamma mia, mamma mia!!! Madonna mia, Madonna mia!!! Can I send the telegram to my mother that I´m ok!? as archive materials say.

23.5. 1964 attack of two US F-102 on Czechoslovak Mi-4 what took the photos of german border area from Czechoslovak territory, but US fighters didn´t fire only several attacks by manoeuvres

January 1970, Václav Bartoš with MiG-19S (made in Aero Vodochody) got the order to shoot down nonspecified German helicopter. According to later investigation Bartoš switch on photocamera but not cannons. After the flight Bartoš said to an investigation commision that the cannons were disfunctional, but during investigation dialog Bartoš burst out that he doesn´t have a look at falling dead people from the helicopter. Commision made the resolution, if Bartoš switch the weapons, the helicopter would be shot down for sure. So Bartoš was kicked off from army, despite he loved flying, and the wonder is that he wasn´t arrested.

supposedly on the end of the 1970s was shot down some US chopper by L-39ZA

20 April 1984, Czechoslovak MiG-21MF of pilot capitan Doležal and one MiG-21F-13 of major Neumaier of 5th fighter regiment from Plzeň-Líně AB attack US AH-1S what spies on new communication cable works of Czechoslovak air defence system on direction Nýrsko – Domažlice. The Migs catch the Cobra near Domažlice town in about 300 m flying height and cpt. Doležal start to fire with cannon. He misses but the burst warns US pilot and he quickly runs to 40m flying height and flies away accros the border. MiGs pilots have a lot of problems to get out from mountain terrain and not to cross the border. The fact is that 2mach fighter is not suitable for fight against small helicopter in a mountain terrain in low flying height but the pilots was rebuked for the failure even chief of regiment is talking about both pilots release. General Štorka, chief of 10th Air Army, stands up for the pilots and confirms assertion that a successful fight against small helicopter in low flying height with MiG-21 is impossible, and protecs the pilots from penalty.

Do you realize that CzAF would have been free to engage when USAFE/NATO elements were not?

What???? What you talking about? These shot down USAFE/NATO aircraft violated Czechoslovak border with full weapon magazines in 1950s, how they weren´t free to engage? In that time it was actually war act and all pilots known that very well. On the other hand in the 1980s Czechoslovak Mig-23s from České Budějovice AB made angry Austrian air defense because they often crossed border to cut patrol border flight at supersonic speed because they known about lack of air-to-air weapons of drakens.

Not well known fact is Czechoslovak score against USAFE and NATO air force over Iron curtain 1950 – 1989. CzAF – USAFE/NATO 7:0 victories, 2:0 damaged, almost 50 forced down actions (including civilian aircrafts), about 90 spy balloons shot down. So Czechoslovak Air Force is only in whole world, which has active score against USAF up today…

unfortunately no more info is available, so create few sentences is impossible

but similar video from 1972, Žatec AB again and mass takeoff during Štít 72 exercise. 36 Su-7 and 36 MiG-21 together. Interwals between takeoffs were cut down in rehersals to 15s with the Su-7’s and to 10 s with MiG-21’s, so in approximately 5 minutes airfield was empty. Second part of the video is the same footage from Štít 84.

Last week Czech ministry of defence has send request for proposal to several helicopter producer. Tender for new 12-18 universal (transport/csar/sar/attack) helicopters for Czech Air Force as replacement for Mi-24/35 will be announced soon this year. Czech ministry of defence want to get first examples next year, last in 2021. There are not announced candidates, but new helicopters will be used primary as transport and attack (so weapons including guided missiles), and some speculation is talking about UH-1Y Venom, AW-139M, KUH-1 Surion, H145M, S565 Panther. What do you mean, what is the best Mi-171ŠM´s complement? (Mi-171ŠM will be decommissioned around 2015, so new universal helicopter must be good complement for Mi-171ŠM potential replacement as well)
