Last S-102 and Mig-15bisSB of Czechoslovak air force stared in movie Vysoká modrá zeď from 1973. They simulated itself at the 1950s in the movie…
“US planes” interception over Czechoslovak territory, actually poor Delfíns 🙂
“tool of revenge” is comming…, scenes of civilian plane disaster over Czechoslovakia due to US propagandist balloons and first Mig-15s for Czechoslovak Air Force comming in Czechoslovakia, note erased Czechoslovak roundels of the migs for the film, they belonged to the 30. bilp in 1973 from Hradec Králové base 🙂
it flies! This day was taken first fly!

I know rumcajs. its so disappointing to sell these planes for a higher price and get service contracts for Czech companies and staff. It would have been so much better if the Americans paid 1/8 of the price and not give any service contracts for czech firms.
the Iraqis will get 15 L159s:
10x single seaters (flying)
2x dual seaters (flying)
3x single seaters broken up for spares.Aero is paying $36M for the jets from the czech air force.
I wonder how much Iraq is paying aero?
its excellent contract for 750 million crown without guarantee to get that many at all, it really is….you are right. It´s great and clever decision to paralyse training system for only one tactical squadron of Czech air force for tens months (till it will get further T1 planes rebuilt from stored ones, wait from what? So need to purchase much more expensive new planes)… It´s great to send the planes with hastily trained pilot against brutal extremist in real combat action for the first time . It´s excellent to sell planes with certainty that you will see them after one or two years in the desert dust as wrecks for F-16 and TA-50 training or after some further state putsch. So without chance to get any service contract for longer time. But it´s really “idiotic” sell unneedful planes to professional company with guarantee to get the money and to serve support technical service and spares (and to get money for it) for long time and sign contract for L-159´s service and sale cooperation for both America´s continents…, isn´t it… Happily contract and sale cooperation with Draken has already existed but the planes for Iraq become wasting of hardware. But I hope, that Aero will pay for planes for Czech state before they disappear over there, after that it´s Aero´s privat stuff, privat challenge of private company.
unfortunately today confirmed: Czech Air force is selling L-159 planes to Aero for Iraq. Iraq will get 10 stored singleseaters and two twoseaters from active service with 212. tactical squadron, one stored and two from active service Aero buys as well, but for what, who knows. Czech air force is selling these 15 planes for 750 milion crowns … The plan is T1s will be send in Iraq in October, planes of A version during autumn… with plamen pods and some weapons. Everything will be Aero´s job…
What a nice project. But, may I ask why or how the scheme for 2514 was chosen? It seems that in doing so a number of more, shall we say, ‘glamourous’ Czech examples have been passed over. That is perfectly reasonable, of course, but just my own curiosity to know why?…
Looking forward to first flight.
This CS-102 already got matking of formet 2514, because former and “new” 2514 was and is based on Hradec Králové former military base, just reminder of “30. bitevní letecký pluk” honored with name “Ostravský” (30th attack regiment, name “Ostravský” as reminder of battle of czech city Ostrava in 1945) – successor of famous “3. československý bitevní letecký pluk v SSSR” for many years (3rd czechoslovak attack regiment USSR – one of the most important operation of that battalion was battle of Ostrava of course with Il-2). So the “new” 2514 is private plane based on Hradec Králové and father of one of the owners was S-102 pilot, so CS-102 got livery of one of the last Czechoslovak S/CS-102. Last S/CS-102 and MiG-15bisSB were decommmissioned in 1982 just on Hradec Králové base. Aeros and MiGs were replaced with Su-25 at that time.
note Ostrava city emblem on fuselage, typical sign of all 30. regiment´s planes
Nice..here is the last finnish all wood glider VASAMA.
it reminds me LF-107 Luňák from 1948… 🙂

I own a vz.58, the amount of times I have to explain at the shooting range that it isn’t an AK….if I had a penny each time!
yeah :-))
Well at least the vz58 and the AK had completely different operating principles.
The L-159 is essentially an L-39 airframe with local reinforcement. Same aerodynamics, even the same wing profile: NACA 64A012.5. Aero even stated that this was how it evolved.
Some nice avionics and a more powerful engine.
Over to you for the full explanation of how this is completely different from the 1968 original other than in the marketeer’s imagination.
Edit: I omitted to mention the ‘completely redesigned nose’ and the change to B-type ejection seats…
“essencially” and “with local reinforcement” – excelent!
I can say vz.58 IS kalašnikov, proudly, I know it… :highly_amused: because it looks like kalašnikov, like L-159 airframe and wing are as same as with L-39 because looks like….
Seriously, already looong time these fairly tales dont attract me, the end
And the L-39NG isn’t?
Completely?
Maybe it’s the time for another popular fairy tale “L-159 is variant of L-39” style: ČZ vz.58 IS a kalashnikov…
Cool, but isn’t that what the L-159 was (is)?
L-159 is completely different aircraft from Albatros…
There was an interview with the Iraqi AF commander and he did say that the deal with Czech is still on.
It s still funny, not with Czech. Funny thing is that iraqies negotiate only with Aero, not with “Czechs” actualy Czech state, but Aero has no L-159 for sale… Czech minister of defence said alongside annoucenent about sale of first 14 L-159 to Aero for Draken, that chance to sell some L-159s to Iraq still exist, nothing more. My private opion? Iraq will get none plane… all will go behind the Atlantic… good decision…
