I would appreciate it and post here or PM me please?
I thought that capacity was 20,000 at least?
DHC-7?
From memory, its last flight to Perth was not in 1973, more like 76 or 77, simply as I watched it over fly Bedfordshire on the airways system on a route roughly BPK-POL and I am sure it passed over during a summer evening? It used its registration as its call sign that is how I know it was F-BGNR.
Thinking about it, this Viscount probably flew right over (or very close) Hatch (Skysports base) at cruising Altitude during its last ever flight!
Don’t forget the yearly Chicksands Air Fete which was held every July (only a couple of miles from Clophill). C-5 overhead at 2000ft en route Mildenhall, Heyford F-111’s etc etc…….
Who can forget the pair of B-1’s with callsigns Boom & Doom that appeared at Clophill!
If one is going to publish pictures electronically on the Internet, then unless the photo clearly has “copyright of Mr Xxxxxx” layered across it, one has to assume that it will be copied.
It is extremely simple to layer a signature or copyright and just as easy to copy and re-produce elsewhere.
Anyone daft enough to think that they can TOTALLY enforce copyright on an image reproduced on the Internet is deluded.
For goodness sake stop moaning about copyright if your image is not layered with such or does not contain your exif tag (if it is taken using a modern digital camera it will have this embedded within the jpeg file).
Rant over!
Was this the airframe that flew up from Booker to be resprayed in the rear of McAlpine Aviation Hangar at Luton?
I understand that half of the RAF West Drayton site has already been flattened to make way for apartments, the remainder of the site will become housing once NATS moves off site late next year.
Having posted the images in good faith, the original creator has contacted me and asked that they be removed. This I have willingly done. If you wish to obtain copies, see the the threads above and PM the owner.
Mike Smart, you have a PM.
Apologies for the poor image quality. These were passed on to me sometime ago and depict the flying display following on from a gliding competition held by the London Gliding Club at Dunstable Downs in 1967.

The flying display that I remember at Dunstable was during the early 1970’s with the tiger Club in abundance.
My memories of the Mosquito displaying there will last my lifetime. A natural amphitheatre the view form the downs made.
I will did the shots out this evening from a previous display.
Probably operating into Cranfield then?
30 minutes prior to its final departure:

The cockpit area separated on impact and was thrown clear of the fire which consumed the wings and rear fuselage. This accounts for the remarkable survival of the crew. This is how it was reported on Anglia TV tonight and the footage seems to back their claims. The cockpit area did look mangled and possibly fire ravaged, but I guess it was far enough away form the initial conflagration for the crew to make a hasty exit.
Eye witness said that it failed to get properly airborne and veered to the left before the impact.
Mr Joe Public sent a photo in from his mobile phone which confirmed the fireball beyond the perimeter.
Two very lucky people. Gods were smiling on them for sure!
