I was aware of Piece of Cake having been filmed first. Bad grammer on my part causing confusion 😮
Three:
Mig-21. Not sure if anything was done with this aircraft. Can’t remember where it went!
Went to Midland Air Museum
I am rather intrigued by this photograph. I recently asked a question on a number of forums about the RAF Conspicuity Trials that took place in the 1990’s.
On one of the forums someone posted the following comment.
“I’ve got an air to air photo of a F3 Tornado with bright red droptanks- I’ll try and scan it to upload when I can, if anyone is interested. Does anyone know if that was part of the same trial? I never did find out. I think that it was in the late 1990s? Maybe it was so that the Nav could confirm whether they had missed the school after punching them off??”
I PM’d the chap a couple of times but recieved no further reply. I wonder if its the same Tornado to which he refers or something differant ?
I dont know how many of you are on Facebook but Kelly from the BBMF is keeping the Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight (Official) Facebook page upto date.
She really is doing a grand job posting updates and giving a flavour of what the Flight is all about. Well worth joining up to and having a daily read.
Very basic Chris, I built both the Airfix and Matchbox examples some years back, seem to remember the Matchbox version being the better of the two.
I will second that. I had mine sat next to a Hawk & Percival Provost from the same company.
I guess it shows that you just can’t please everybody.
Much of what is planned for release is not my cup of tea, however I can fully understand how it will appeal to others. I also think its great to see new kits coming from Airfix once more of subjects that are desired by modellers of British subjects. Well done Airfix
I really believe that we are in what will one day be viewed as a golden age of modelling. I can’t think of a time where we have been so well catered for in terms of subjects. If it is British subjects that float your boat we have been well looked after the last twelve months or so. Sea Vixens, Hawks, Tornado’s, Lightnings, Valiant, Swordfish and of course the odd Spit or two.
Roll on 2012 and beyond.
Regards Martin
BTW rumour has it Italeri are bringing out a 1/72nd Sunderland
Many thanks for all that offered help. PM’s etc inbound to people. 😀
Congratulations Chris to you and your wife. Fantastic news and the date could not have been better for you. Best wish’s to all.
I know little of the Arrow story. Is the info on the listing creative sales patter or is it a theory that is held up as true by some ?
I didn’t get out and about at all during 2011 so can’t offer any pictures.
How about this stunning video of the 2011 Reds from in cockpit.
Breaking news on the BBC is that the Reds are clear to resume flying once more.
If you need Hunters drop me a PM. I have just set up an online model store and although building up stock month by month I am more than happy to do special orders and sort a good price out for you.

Happy Birthday Peter from the Garrett household
Was that statement released today ?
I really hope not as that would be hugely insensitive timing for Seans friends and family who will be preparing for his funeral tomorrow.
I do see that there is no date on the press release so I hope I am wrong in my observation.
