    And what inspired the F15 and F14 ? The MiG 25 ?

My Dad is stronger than your Dad ! 😀

Someone suggested that the Tu95’s extreme noise is due to the propeller tips breaking the sound barrier. So noisy that it’s even picked up on submarines’ sonar. But sure some plane ! TU95 pilots used to tease F104 pilots off the Norwegian coast by dropping their speed so low that the F104s “fell out of the air”.

    Quality of Russian products

[QUOTE=lovemigs;1069346]Well, of course it depends on type of product and/or service these comapanies will be offering and the quality of the same…..
When this subject turns up I always like to point to our refridgerator “Made in Soviet Russia” in 1971. It’s been running day and night ever since, without a single glitch. It has outlived a fridge of a famous Swedish brand (that ended on the dump when it developed the same error for the third time.) I now wonder which one will give up first; the German brand we now own as our main fridge – or the 36 years old Russian. Well, this is probably an exception but none the less…

    What about other dictators ?

I won’t shed a single tear over Saddam but I wish USA would had been equally keen to capture earlier dictators. Instead they supported, in every way, fascist pi3s like Franco in Spain, Salazar in Portugal, Papadopolos in Greece, the Shah in Persia + his infamous Savak police and their torture chambers, Pinochet in Chile and numerous other Latin American dictators. “Yes, he is a swine, but he’s OUR swine !” (Sorry, I gotta throw up !)
