i watched it also… really good insight..

BUT… one thing i remeber from watching it was that the baggage system had a FULL back up in case of issues like today?

I wonder if the issues today are down to “Humans” rather the the tech..

The story of the crew has turned it into a PR dream for BA.

    Quite clever really.

i don’t know if its turned into a dream taking into account the loss in revenue with losing a 777, yes there is insurance to cover this and insurance to cover loss of earnings etc, but i think credit is due were credit is due..

In regards to PR…for example… People who have no knowledge and are worried about flying will always think about this incident for the next few years… and may refrain from booking with BA..

Look at Virgin for example, following the train crash up near the lakes last year, i bet all of their returning customers have not returned. (unfortunately there were fatalities with this incident, but in theory the principals are the same with customer impressions.
    )
The Crew, PAX, local residents on the approaching glade slope and BA are extremely lucky to be in the situation they are in today.

One report i heard from a pax on board with Sky news which made me smile was a report which went along the following lines..

Sky news : Glad you are safe and well, how do you fell about flying in the future? Are you going to reduce flying following this experience?

PAX:- yes its not a problem

SKY NEWS : Would you ever fly with BA again following the ordeal you have encounted??

PAX: Yes, of course i would,

Sky NEWS: So this has not worried you at all?

PAX: no, i was just lucky…

    anyway,.,..

When is “she” expected to be moved and what is the process involved?

Sky News are at it again…….. using the term engine failure…………….

Both engines on the British Airways jet which crash-landed at Heathrow failed two miles short of the airport, investigators have said.

    http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30100-1301371,00.html

I think the correct term should be, “Aircraft Technical Issue” until the final report is published….

Could this be an element of slander if this is not true??? or is it just some media loop hole….

Looks like it landed short. There are “Skid marks”/Trenches in the grass well short of the piano keys.
Good to hear that all are safe.

The PAX were pretty lucky looking at the pic’s and video on Sky News / BBC 24..

As long as everyone is ok thats whats important…

    Taken from BBC NEWS

Eyewitness John Rowland said: “The plane’s wheels collapsed, doors were flown open.

“On its approach it took the runway too low, just missing the roof of my cab.

“It crashed into the runway, debris was flying everywhere, there was an enormous bang and it skidded sideways.”
