Below is a snippet to give you an idea of link content.
Tim Marshall – Sky news
June 02, 2009 5:07 PMI’ve just got this from someone I trust. It originates within Air France. Translation below;
‘The ACARS messages of system failures began to arrive at 02:10Z. Indication was that the
autopilot had disengaged and the fly by wire system had changed to alternate law. Between 02:11Z and 02:13Z a flurry of messages regarding ADIRU and ISIS faults arrived. At 02:13Z PRIM 1 and SEC 1 faults were indicated, at 02:14Z the last message received was an advisory regarding cabin vertical speed.”

The French are not completely dismissing terrorism with this incident, and Rio does have more than the average amount of ‘domestic problems’.
I am in no way speculating but stating what appears to be a fact.
One thing which I am surprised about is the media has not reported the incident which occurred on the 27th May 2009 at Ezeiza Airport in Argentina. – The only link is Air France and the destination of Paris.
Posted on 27 May 2009 at 16:27 — momento24.com
The airport safety delayed an Air France flight this evening before departing for Paris immediately after the company received a bomb threat over the phone at the airport of Ezeiza.
The Federal Police, along the Firemen’s direction and the Airport’s Safety proceeded to inspect the plane, that arrived this morning from the French city and, after a brief stop, it was preparing to return.
The routine procedure lasted approximately one hour and a half and, as sources of the airport reported all the passengers are ok and they were not evacuated.

Remember, im only stating the report above, not speculating anything.

Question, had today been pre-planned to release the RyanAir financial figures?
The reason i say is that a lot of corporate companies will releases “bad” profit news on days when media interest is focused on other top stories to keep the impact minimal.
However in RyanAir’s past… any media good or bad they just class it as marketing!

The debris was spotted from the air about 410 miles (650 kilometers) north of the Brazilian island of Fernando de Noronha, roughly along the path that the jet was taking before it disappeared with 228 people on board, said Air Force spokesman Jorge Amaral.
There were no signs of life in two sightings of separate debris areas about 60 kilometers (35 miles) apart.
“The locations where the objects were found are towards the right of the point where the last signal of the plane was emitted,”
If the above is correct, debris found 35 miles apart means the search area is massive.

Lets hope the investigators and search teams find the aircraft as soon as possible for the family members and friends sake.

Brazilian aircraft searching for an Air France jet which went missing with 228 people aboard in an Atlantic storm have spotted debris on the ocean.
“Small remains” were located 650km (400 miles) north-east of Brazil’s Fernando do Noronha island, the Brazilian air force said.
It could not be immediately confirmed that the debris came from the Airbus.
The jet was heading from Brazil to Paris when it vanished about four hours into its flight, early on Monday.[/COLOR]
Sky are now reporting 400 Miles off the Brazil Coast on TV… website is a little delayed.
The South American country’s air force found debris 390 or 1,000 miles off its coast, depending on reports.
Brazilian media reported Tuesday that search planes may have spotted some signs of debris, including plane seats, from the Air France jetliner missing in the Atlantic Ocean. But the air force isn’t immediately confirming if it is the lost jet.
Brazil’s Globo TV quoted a ham radio operator who reported hearing air force radio traffic that debris possibly from the plane, that was carrying 228 people, had been spotted about 435 miles north of the Brazilian archipelago of Fernando de Noronha.
And the Web site of the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper says air force radar has detected signs of oil and metal in the same area.

Trying to go back on topic, France 24 have just recently updated their website.

No real news as such, but the reporting is better than the UK media.
Regarding the above comments about speculation, until the facts are presented no one knows, even more so the media who are reporting on this every minute.
Lets not get the thread locked as thats really frustrating for members who are not in a debate…….
Rick
BBC news have posted a video interview with the same woman.
I have just watched that this second….. Its tragic…..
RIP
Rick
I have been following this tragic event from the moment the news broke this morning.
One thing which really is sad, is the below recording of a worried UK relative posted on the SKY NEWS website. (scroll half way down.)
I feel SKY NEWS should not have this posted on their site, its a worried wife talking about her husband still holding out hope stating his mobile phone is still turned on.
Media is a great tool, but I personally feel Sky news have gone a bit too far to publish this to the public as there is no benefit to broadcast this until the facts are published. it is clear this is a lady needing to speak to someone or seeking further information but not to SKY News.
My heart goes out to all families involved.
Rick
Air France said there is no chance to find the plane.
Lost off the Moroccan coast. It’s of course F-GZCP
The French transport Minister is on the way to Air France headquarter at CDG.
Probably a sad announcement will then be made.
taken from a.net by a French user.
Im not sure about the above statement regarding the Moroccan Coast.
Found the below info on a few sites..
Reports said a search and rescue operation was underway around the Brazilian island of Fernando de Noronha
