Maybe Steve meant “Pikey” then, or whatever your local phrase for thieving scavengers that live in caravans is 🙂

Sounds like Pikeys to me – the nasty scrotes will have anything away.

    Rob..

yep just the night run, and the Spitfire late afternoon, around 1700ish depending on the weather..

noticed this in the hangar today…

isn’t this the he-111/ casa that was in one of the huts in a diorama? I’ve not any idea as to its provenance however.

theiving gypsy *******s concerned being hung drawn quartered and finally shot. (Probably just wishful thinking on that last bit though…)

    Gypsy,

1 : a member of a traditionally itinerant people who originated in northern India and now live chiefly in south and southwest Asia, Europe, and No. America

just thought you might like to know what a gypsy actually is as opposed to your tabloid newspaperesque version of what you think they are, the definition strangely doesn’t mention that they have a tendency to steal things ( including propellors ).

Im in agreement though with the general sentiment that the thieves are ……well I shall watch my language, you get the drift.

    best regards, steve

if you carry on with the good work you’ve started there will always be a place for you!! 😉

ill second that, critical I may be of those missing punctuation marks but not of your passion for old aircraft! 🙂

my nomination, a couple of chaps called Harold and Fred and of course their brother Christopher who started it all off in the most important way of all.

Well on geographical grounds Im taking refuge with the BBMF chaps,

anyone know when the lanc is back up and doing it’s thing?

Thanks for the replies. It is interesting to hear peoples opinions on the matter. I realise it is outside of the ‘brief’ of an aviation forum but a lot of things on here are outside of the historic aviation bracket. It does relate back to aviation though as rembrance can include aircrews/groundcrews also and so it not so tenuous as to be completely obscure,

Setter whilst I appreciate what you were trying to do with this thread, I think perhaps it is just turning into the exact opposite of the approach you suggest in your first post.

I cant say I particularly like the person whom you are discussing’s posts all that much but he’s not around anymore by the looks of it so perhaps we can just finish this thread and leave it. I don’t think this thread serving any purpose other than to rake up the past,

setter, you said, “No good purpose is served going into the detail of who or to what issue, except to cause possible embarrasment. Suffice to say I am more concerned about the principle here not the Person or persons.”

well I think that’s all the thread is doing now so why continue? Lets go make posts about aeroplanes instead.

    best regards, steve.

Oh yeah that Titanic model, one of my brothers was building that and got glue all over his hands while working on said model, then we had a nice couple of hours in A+E so they could unstick his fingers 🙂 🙂 🙂

‘my brother’…yeah right 😉 how are you now?

I do not wish to sound rude but have you actually read any of my posts on this subject.

I have NOT once said I am going to fly it, the bloke I am building it for probably will not fly it even if he dose nobody will get hurt if he slams it into the ground at a million miles an hour as he lives on a farm only if somebody is trespassing will they be hurt should it be flown and hit the bit of ground they are standing on.

I have disabilitys myself and find great joy in building models, this is the first R/C model I have built even though it is not for me even though it will not fly I will not be cutting corners as I take pride in my work.

Here here. Good luck with your project.

Pity the UK’s other Lib isn’t on show at Hendon.

Didn’t someone (possibly Mike J) say the Cosford Lib was on its way to Hendon? Apologies if i’ve got it mixed up.
