Every so often someone will remark that PA474 and KB889 were parked together at one of the Duxford shows, personally i dont believe this ever happened. Does anyone have a photograph to prove me wrong, hope so 🙂
Thanks very much fluffy. I will pop down on Monday then, if you see the horrible sight below then please say hello. Dont worry i wont start begging to get in the lanc 😉
do we have an approx time for these runs? fluffy? bruggen?
many thanks
Gee ZH875! CH4 putting operational doesn’t have to mean in regards of military operation. Can ML407 be operated? yes, it can, therefore it is operational. I dont think the people who do the CH4 website think of ‘operational’ in the way a lot of military aircraft enthusiasts do.
If we are taking the BBMF and arguing if they are ‘operational’ in a military sense then yes of course they are. The BBMF has many aircraft in many roles and all are operational in some sense, they just have different roles. So the F3s are air superiority aircraft, Hercules, transport aircraft, Red Arrows raise awareness of the RAF and help recruit and the BBMF raises awareness and most importantly is a memorial….still operational in the role the RAF keep it for.
will someone help put teddy back in the pram.
Moggy, correction, it appears we will have 6/12 of a squadron now as G-George will be removed from her new home to join the half squadron which will be flown over to Scampton (via the aid of some inflight refuelling modifications) for a remake of The Dam Busters. Richard Todd will rperise his role and the CG will make himlook like it was 1954 allover again.
Anybody care to beat that for utter tosh! 😉

Only one of those is an aircraft! Of the £21,000,000 that has been alloted to Duxford, how much will go to the preservation or restoration of aircraft. I can tell you £0.00. Where did the bulk of money go in the American Museum, it certainly wasn’t to the aircraft. Bricks & mortar get gongs, aeroplanes do not.
True but all of the above contain/will contain at least one aircraft therefore the money spent on the building has directly gone to the preservation of the aircraft. A roof over the head of an aircraft is vital and the importance of this goes hand in hand with the restoration of aircraft. Im sure you would agree.
