at least it doesnt look a badly made toy plane like some scale replicas do. This is pretty impressive, must have taken a lot of hard work,

“””””””Harphoons? I’m going to have to watch the film again to believe these””””””””
arn’t those converted harvards more likely to be harbolts than harpoons, they do look more like early mark razorback p47s than typhoons.

I recollect that the ‘flying Horsa’ shots were done cleverly. The Daks took up slack ahead of the Horsa and flying shots were taken from the front seat of a Blahnik (2 seat Czech advanced training) glider on aerotow behind a Dak.
Yes but its glaringly obvious they were short of some flying horsas as you are always waiting for a wider angle shot of the whole setup in flight 🙂 good film i think, on a par with battle of britain.

– the wallis island lanc is not under restoration in France for the Le Bourget Museum. A group called Ailes Anciennes are retsoring it.
-Just Jane is the one at East Kirkby, yes.
– The one brought to Strathallan is KB976, it is now in the US with Kermit Weeks, in the long term it may be restored to flying condition. It was under restoration in the uk years ago when a hanger roof collapsed on it (woodford?) and damaged the rear fuselage quite badly.
– The two flying lancasters are the BBMF Lancaster, pa474 at raf coningsby in lincolnshire and the canadian warplane heritage lancaster fm213, in Hamilton, Ontario.
best regards steve
DHFan, you are right, i think there was a mass flypast at coventry but it was seven if remember rightly (picture in flypast). Last years had a flypast of three dakotas on the sunday.
best regards steve
Not really people in the aviation scene but id thank Director Michael Anderson, Michael Redgrave, Richard Todd etc for making the Dambusters which directly got me interested in Aviation years ago. Particularly lancasters.
Also a thanks to the BBMF groundcrew and pilots!
