Nice one snapper!
This could save Duxford a bit on the old leccy bills. Wind + Mustang on Pole = Wind Turbine.
Ashley please let the powers that be at Duxford know of my idea, i may want to patent it 🙂
ps- delighted to hear about the Lysander. although if forum members have info it’s less infuriating 😉 if they either keep it to themselves or tell, rather than the…..i know something you dont know approach

what exactly is ‘wrong’ with Friday 13th? which bits?
I know she has Hastings wings and undercarriage (?) but she has an authentic fuselage section and arnt the new build rear and nose sections pretty accurate?
as for my view on her,
Ive stood in the nose section of the Halifax at Lambeth. Its real and i stood inside it and didnt feel a thing. Ive sat in the pilots seat of the YAM Halifax and that is a real halifax! It feels like a halifax and it looks (minor quibbles aside) like a Halifax, therefore to me it IS a Halifax. Also the cockpit is more than a few feet from the ground, something Hendon never got there head around 😉 It’s as much a Halifax as the replica Vimy is a Vimy, Hurricane LF363 is LF363, etc etc.
“The reason the Lancaster will not be there is that the BBMF required a 100m display line/crowd line seperation. The CAA require 75m and Coventry have made it 85m. It was not considered worth changing for just a maximum of three aircraft””
if thats true then that is rather annoying . Why doesnt the BBMF extend their display line back 100 metres?????
Was lucky enough to see a see a VC10 a couple of weeks ago doing touch and go’s at Waddington. Only difference was a was watching it form the Observatory at Lincoln Castle as it made its turns near the cathedral.
Will post a picture when i finish the film.
thought so, i remember reading the article about skysports restoration in flypast.
Amusing Typo anyway 😉
tony, the Play.com website does sell the DVD in Region 1. If you have a DVD player (not a Playstation 2 or Computer Drive) then go to http://www.dvdreviewer.co.uk where you can get codes to unlock your player to play region 1. Perfectly legal too apparently 🙂
im in the “dont care what its painted like as long as it flies” camp and i too find it odd that some aircraft enthusiasts have reacted like this just because of a paint scheme, but Peters right, they can and should have there say.
Three cheers for Red Bull………Hip Hip…………….
The hanger is meant to showcase thier training aircraft with the Varsity seemingly been the biggest aircraft to be placed in there when it is finished. It will be the only Varsity undercover apparently so that can only be a good thing.
Steady on Lancman 😉
……..
and another, hopefully not as huge this time.
