All the Qatar Government aircraft are painted in the Qatar Airways scheme. It looks more sensible on the Airbus fleet which is indistinctive from the Qatar Airways mainline aircraft, however on the Biz Jets it is slightly more obvious who they operate for which makes them look quite strange 😀
The only exception is the 747SP which lives at Bournemouth which has its own scheme, although I’m not sure its technically a government aircraft.
So do we know if the A330 in the photo is also a gov’t issue?
Correction, it appears most of them are in the new scheme now 🙂
Thanks for the info. Are there any 777’s or 744’s still in the old scheme?
What’s the deal with the Qatar Challenger/Global Express?
Back to the topic, no PIA 777’s or 744’s for GLA not unlike MAN? Also, does PIA not plan on painting their A310’s in the new livery?
And more to the point – does anybody care?
I concurr. This thread is almost as bad as the ‘hello’ thread in the GD forum. One of the mods, put a lock on this thing already!
The 2 threads will get merged.
It’s designed to scare birds away to prevent bird strikes.
No T4 is going to Skyteam and Non-Aligned airlines (i.e. not in any alliance).
T3 will be, as we’ve said Oneworld
T1 will be for Star Alliance
T2 is being left empty.
Is T1 practical enough to serve 15 (17 when Swiss and S. African officially join) Star carriers, some of which (LH, BD, OS just to name a few) have numerous flights throughout the day? Also, what’s going to happen to T2?
I thought T5 was destined for the Oneworld airlines
That’s what I thought too. It’s sounds logical, for easier connection from one ONEworld carrier to the other. As far as T4 goes, location and nightmares aside, wouldn’t it also be logical for Star to operate out of a single terminal for reasons stated above?
What’s with 747’s from KL and AF in LHR back then? Surely this aircraft was not ideal for the short hops to AMS and CDG, respectively. 😀
What’s going to happen to T4 then?
Who needs digital quality when you have classics like that to share! Beautiful. Where was the bulk of those photos taken at? More than anything, I’m curious about the Pan Ams and the other jumbos.
Has MAN become a PIA hub or something ? 😀
My thoughts exactly. Now for a few questions:
1) Do they have 4 dailies into MAN from Karachi, or where-ever they’re based?
2) Does PIA plan on using their LR’s for routes where they actually need the extra range?
3) Is PIA the launch customer for the -LR?
4) Do the engines on the LR have a bigger diameter than the all the previous models?
United use terminal 7 at JFK, not 3. I’m not sure how much you’ll get to experience the terminal upon your arrival, given you’ll clear customs then be landside. Upon departure, however, T7 has some really nice facilities. BA use that terminal, as well. Your flight should be fine. UA has pretty decent service on intl flights, contrary to popular belief.
AC is a good airline. I’ve flown them long and short haul. Most people will immediately jump on them due to lack of PTV’s, but I flew them HNL-SYD and service, food, etc., was pretty good. I’ve gone away from flying them, however, in the last year or so as they have tightened their policy of mileage accrual for their partner airlines. I flew them from ORD to YUL in Sept. of 2004 and I didn’t get credit for those flights. I called United and I was told that a few months prior to that mileage plus members can now only get credit on AC flights on certain classes of fares (I believe H class) and higher. So I avoid them now, and luckily UA puts their own metal on a lot of the routes AC used to fly exclusively with a UA codeshare.
