Was the OA flight an A340, or an A300-600R? I could care less about the reg #.
Those are both great pics. North American and El Al have a very close relationship. They feed El Al’s flights into JFK and EWR, if they’re still around.
Austrian uses and MD-82 on their LHR services now, that’s interesting. I also noticed an A320 in there as well. When I flew them out of LHR, they used an A321 wich made sense. I didn’t see any Olympic aircraft on that list. They have like 3 flights in and out of LHR daily, I thought.
Well Mike, that sucks for your wife to do that to you, EVEN IF you were looking at the attendant’s arse or not. It was no fault of the flight attendant for looking good. Just to add to the original topic, along with Virgin Blue, I also find Lufthansa to have very nice looking attendants, Austrian, and Air Jamaica.
It had probably just been returned off lease to Garuda for the Hadj.
Geez, I think those Hooters girls look a tad bit better than just ‘decent.’ I’ll take that one in the left seat anytime! Steve, I couldn’t agree with you more on both fronts. I have flown Virgin Blue, and their female flight attendants were very niiiiiiiiiiiiice (looking), to say the least! And as much as I love United, their female flilght attendants as a whole are a bit ‘older,’ per se. Mike, for the first time, I think I’m going to have to disagree with you on the ‘maturity’ issue. Cabin service is cabin service, in my opinion. As long as they keep the Scotch flowing and they don’t spill anything on me (like a TWA flight attendant who spilled orange juice on me when I was 9), I’m good to go, in any class of service (unless I’m flying domestic economy, in which case I bring my own). I’ve actually found the younger flight attendants to be more energetic and enthusiastic, and for whatever reason, I can have a decent conversation with on occassion. And when it all boils down to it, sure, I wouldn’t mind having some eye candy on a five hour flight. If they don’t come around as often to pick up my trash, I’ll go to the galley and throw it away myself. I’m not one to push on the attendant call button anyway. I probably sound superficial in all this, but, so be it.
Either way, in order for them to fly from SYD or MEL to Europe, they’d have to make 2 stops. The only way to avoid this, is to be based in SIN, BKK, KUL, or HKG, or something. As soon as they get their A345’s, they won’t have to worry about this anyhow.
That’s correct Mongu, because either way, Emirates is going to have to make a stop in Dubai because that’s their base. From Dubai, they can only reach Perth, and not Sydney or Melbourne. From DXB they have to stop in SIA or BKK, just like the rest of them, to reach those 2 cities.
That is correct Mongu, I don’t think were debating the fact that SIA or a few other airlines flew Australia-Europe with one stop. I did the same in July 2002. I flew SYD-SIN, stayed overnight in Singapore, then continued on SYD-LHR, both segments on a 744. If she’s on the 773 out of SYD, she’s leaving around noon.
I personally don’t think any current member of Star, would have been denied Oneworld membership had they chosen to go that route. They are all world class airlines that have a niche in their respective marketplace. They just chose to join the best alliance. I am a posterboy for somebody that takes full advantage of his frequent flyer benefits, by being loyal to a particular airline and the alliance it belongs to; and who goes out of his way to make sure that he flies on one of the members in every instant.
Lastly, totally agree with you on the whole El Al thing, Mongu. I think it would be impossible for them to be in any alliance, and no, they don’t offer much other than access to Israel, which other Euro airlines have, as well.
When is the A345 going to be introduced into service, and who is the launch customer? As far as the 777 goes Mongu, the 777-300ER is supposed to have similar range to the A346 and the 777-200LR is supposed to compete with the A345. My question is, couldn’t they just extend the range of the 777 one time, instead of twice? Why did they even come out with the baseline version? Is the 777-200LR still going to happen?
I know they fly into SXM, where are they based? If UA hadn’t signed that agreement with USAirways, I probably would have flown UA from LAX to SJU via ORD or JFK, then flown Liat from SJU to SXM. Thankfully, that agreement came in just in time, and I used my UA mileage to get business class on US, LAX-CLT-SXM and SXM-PHL-LAX on the return.
Wow, that quality of the scan is just amazing. The pics I take look good as prints, but the quality doesn’t look as good when I scan.
Not unless the airline offers satelite TV, a la jetblue, or you have connect via the internet.
Don’t preview it, just put the link on there, or browse and attach it from your harddrive, if you want it to show up on thread.
