Well, up until KLM recently started sending their -400 series 747’s down there, all you saw in SXM was 747 classics without winglets (Air France, KLM, and Corsair). That European model is a -200 series, ex-BA if I’m not mistaken. Is European what used to be know as EAL?

PS: I think what Airbus actually said was that they wouldn’t provide warrantee support for said airplanes supplied by Boeing

……And Airbus will threaten to not maintain the aforementioned 2nd hand aircraft that customers purchase from Boeing and not Airbus. A certain situation with EK purchasing 2nd hand ex SQ A340’s comes to mind.

From what I had heard, EK was very hesitant on joining on alliance, not unlike our buddy Sir Richard. Perhaps they are going away from this stance? Not we just need a rich airline to buy a stake in Olympic. Any takers? 😉
