That’s stunning Sandy!
The -SPs fuselage is about 45 feet shorter than the -100 but the tail is actually slightly taller (I think) too assist with fuel efficiency and extra range(hence Special Performance), so it appears to look even strager.
The tail is taller, the reason being to assist in stability given the shorter fuselage, and not necessarily to assist in fuel efficiency/range.
Oops, I just realized that’s the hybrid Pan Am scheme, not the 4 star. Sorry about that! Excellent job on that one! 😮

something for greekdude 🙂
You da man! Very above average, thank you. Great job on those Pratts!
UA actually acquired their SP’s from Pan Am when they purchased their Pacific routes in the 80’s. Only 1 ever wore the Blue/grey scheme, but they never actually wore the 4 star scheme as Sandy illustrates. It still looks nice in that livery, though.

Anyway its about time US carriers tap the Indian market. I dont know what the hell they were waiting for.
I agree. Granted, UA has sporadically served India in the last 10 years as part of their around the world service, but currently they are not. When they get back on their feet, perhaps they will resume the India flights.
So many Indians go to and from USA and normally BA or LH gets most of those passengers.
Actually, the few Indians I know living in my area have flown Singapore, Thai, and Asiana.
Lastly, is AC’s Toronto-Delhi flight non-stop?

Ironically, sometimes a ‘direct’ flight entails changing planes, even though the ‘continuation’ flight has the same flight number. Here’s the worst part in that situation. If the first leg of said continuation flight is delayed the second leg doesn’t wait for you, even thought it’s the same flight number. Go figure.

Anyway, bottom line – leave it to the crew who are acting in a professional capacity and in the best interests of themselves, the passengers and the airline.
Andy
Amen.

My fleet would use proper engines 🙂 Hence the RR’s.
The more proper engines on the 747 Classic has to be the JT-9D. On the 400 series, different story. But the Jumbo was launched with the JT-9D and most of the early examples were powered by it.

If the purple went a little more forward then it would be fine. HS-TGJ was also Royal Barge.
