I love the colour scheme though, it’s a dramatic improvement. The only thing I don’t like is the gold/purple Thai logo on the fuselage, it doesn’t seem to fit in too nicely with the rest of the colour scheme, but that can’t be helped.
You took the words out of my mouth. Perhaps if some purple was added to the relatively plain white cowlings, then everything would come full circle. Still looks very nice.
You have yourself a lovely wife greekdude1. Wish you all the best for the future.
Thank you sir.
Thanks to all of you for the kind words. I didn’t leave for any particular reason. If any of you have been around for a while, you may or may not have noticed that I take a break every now and again. I just get bored with my hobbies from time to time. Right now, along with aviation, my cigar smoking has been on hiatus and my humidor has suffered as a result. All it takes is picking up a magazine or taking a trip, or something, to get me back into aviation. I look forward to posting again on a regular basis.
Not that is was that difficult, but Skycruiser was spot on. Too bad I didn’t discover that spot till the night before I left and it was a 10 minute walk from our hotel. Up until then, I was stuck taking photos from the balcony, which was relatively far. Corfu will be visited again.

Greetings Gentlemen (and Lady),
Haven’t been around for a while and decided to pop in and reply to this post. This is me and the wife on one of the Greek Isles. I’m sure a few of you can guess which approach is in the background.
P.S. Steve, Jay Leno is naturally a Johnny Carson wannabe, as he was the successor to Johnny’s show.

I don’t recall United ever operating the tristar
They didn’t last very long, and because of that, only wore the modified c/s of the time, without the 3 striped-cheatline. I never got to fly on those, nor the Super DC-8’s, which lasted until about 1991. 😡
although I think these had been disposed of at the time of the Canadian takeover.
AC’s Tristars were gone long before the Canadian takeover, I believe.
All UA 3-class 767’s and 777’s have PTV’s. The 744’s do not. UA’s in-flight product is just fine. DL’s is slowly going down the tubes.
Great shots LNSE! I have a question. If I don’t resize the pics, they come out too big. How do you get them all to be the same size? Do I have to change the camera settings and get them to fall within the 100KB range?
Great pictures! I particularly like the New Mexico Southwest 737. What does it say on the nose?
Keep your eyes pealed for some Continental Express EMB-145XR flights later this year greekdude. We’ve announced at least 1 destination out of LAX (MTY) with rumors that there will be a few more to follow. A more rumored rumor is that it will become a pilot base for us in the future. That rumor might be more of a wish of the employees than a reality but you never know.
I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for that WD. CO already has a decent presence @ LAX. Not hub status by any means, but good for an airline more or less East coast based. I should have gotten a shot of the SQ A345 landing. Alas, I was still figuring out how to use the camera and it was out of focus. 😡
And some still shots:
I would have said the 757, due to its range and capacity, but now i would probably say the 777-200LR, or even the new 7E7
That’s quite a jump going from the 757 to the 777/7E7.
There’s no way an airline is going to suceed trying to operate a narrowbody across the Pacific. Besides, whatever happens to UA’s and DJ’s codshare agreement? In UA’s Hemispheres magazine, they have DJ as a codeshare partner in Australia. However, I never see any DJ routes when checking UA’s schedules or making reservations.
WOW, that IL-96 photo! 😮 Those main bogies almost smelled grass!
I can see them just fine, Hans. Thank you very much. I love the 707.
I dont think they would send the A340-300 to them! It wont suit in with their fleet, plus also theyre getting old the A340-300’s arent they?
I’d say the oldest A340’s out there are right around 10 years old. I surely wouldn’t consider a 10 y/o airframe to be old, by any means.
Darite, just out of curiosity, if the A340 aren’t suited for DJ’s fleet, other than their current choice, what other types would be suitable?
