I would too. What a meltdown.
One of the hotels in question is named after the owner, “Anna Bouzi.” I guess the prices are pretty reasonable, but I don’t think they claim to be of the 5-star variety, nor do I think that it is expected of those who stay there.
Congrats Peter. I believe I was present when you took the US 767 and the 773ER.
I would think the VC10 or the Convair 880.
I think its lame, personally.
It’s a million times better than their current scheme. I like it, personally.
The 7E7 is more or less the same size as the 767, so it makes sense. The 757 line is done, so naturally the 767 should follow. I love how the 747 has outlasted both of them.
You’ve one-upped me Bhoy. I just gave a brief summary, and you went all out. Good job. By the way, I downloaded the Star timetable per your recommendation, and I approve greatly. The UA one that I’ve had all along, is the same format.
(I did notice that the (SQ) non-stop service from LAX to SIN is only a little shorter than the current 747 service with stop-over in HKG.)
They don’t stop in HKG en route to LAX, they stop there on one of their 2 SFO flights. SQ12 via NRT takes 1:35 longer than the non-stop(SQ20) and SQ30 via TPE takes 1:50 longer than the non-stop. These times are factoring in the layovers, to which each must be at least an hour in length (how long does it take to fully fuel a 744 for a sector of about 11 hours?).
That half demolished tower looks like something flew into it. I wonder how many nervous passengers have taxied past and felt their buttocks clench as they think the same thought ?
I agree, not very aesthetically pleasing at all in today’s day and age. They should have blown the whole thing up at once.
We had a brand new flight attendant who was on here 4th day of work. She had never been to Newark so we told her that there had been an “accident” that had destroyed the tower.
Brilliant! What was her reaction?
That’s where the Hindenberg disaster was, right?
I like MEA’s old scheme.

I don’t recall even hearing about this one. Were there any fatalities?
Yes, that’s why they sent them to the desert, because the P&Ws are really good
Well, when you have 100 RR-powered 757’s and say 20 PW-powered, regardless of which engine is better (in this case, the PW); in order to preserve commonality, what would you do?
AA also repainted 99% of the 752s but are now sending them to the desert since they have P&W and not those watered down hamster wheel RR 🙂
I like this guy already! 😉 Welcome to the forum!
well yes and no…
Everything else you said is precisely what I meant. All ex-TWA planes currently in service with AA at the moment, have all been repainted. Ones that are not currently in service, were not necessarily painted.
Perhaps you can shed some light on my situation, if you are a big TWA buff in a historical aspect. In June 1976, I flew LAX-JFK (more than likely the early morning flight) and connected to the JFK-ATH flight. On the return in August, ATH-JFK then connected to the last flight out of JFK-LAX (I think it was TW841). Were any of these operated by a 707 at the time?
Are all TWA aeroplanes repainted now?
The ones that are in service with AA, all are, I believe. I’m sure there are parked ones still in TW colours.
