Jurassic=Raptors. 😀
Next to our gate was seating a jurassic 707 (I forgot the airline)
Are you sure it wasn’t the former Air Canada A320 painted up in the Toronto Raptors scheme. 😉
The UA Star 763 has now been to ZRH twice in three days…. flagship of the fleet?
Ironically Bhoy, I thought the Star 767 (in the original 6-airline c/s) had disappeared. It was just repainted in this scheme. I always wanted to fly on it, but as it is, I only ever saw it in person once @ SFO undergoing maintance in the 5 or so years it was around. I never see it at all, and they’ve seen it twice in ZRH in 3 days!
Just the rules of competition.
Correct, however, that goes back to WD’s original post.
You want a game where you get breaks all the time, wear helmets and padding so hits are cushioned then play American Football.
If there were no helmets or padding in American Football, there would 6-7 deaths per season, minimum. Some of you might laugh at this statistic, but you don’t know the game like I do. Not to mention the number of concussions would increase by a factor of 10.
So I know nothing about football??
Surely you weren’t referring to me, Comet. Everything you have said in regards to football has been spot on. Both David Beckham and Michael Owen are grossly overrated.
One of the VC-25’s will be used to transport Reagan’s body to Washington on Wednesday, and will be using the call-sign “Air Force 1” even though GWB will not be on board, I believe.
I agree bigger is not always better in particular situations. However, in an airline alliance, how can bigger not be better? The more airlines in the alliance, the more destinations, options, airline lounges, etc. you can offer the customer. I am the poster boy for the Star Alliance, in a non-business traveler aspect. Star takes me where-ever I want to go, on one or more of their airlines. I get uprades on NZ, BD, LH, etc. just because of my status with UA. I get my premier exec bonus (100%) on all USAirways flights plus LH trans-Atlantic flights. I get to fly in SQ’s business class cabin for the 2nd time this summer, and I’ve never even purchased a revenue ticket from them. I can go on…
I think it’s cool that a new airline is starting up, and all (especially on the west coast), but everything WD says makes sense. Virtually every airline in the U.S. is struggling financially, and the fuel prices surely aren’t helping. Throwing another player into the mix, a loco at that, forces everybody to lower their fares on particular routes. That may be great for me the traveler, but for the established airlines trying desparately to get back to profitability, what does it do for them, and the roughly 10,000 pilots that don’t have jobs?
It was a French charter airline back in the 80’s
We flew in 84 to Heraklion (Crete) and they were operating a couple of DC8.
The company was called “Point Air” and based at Mulhouse Basel airport.
Did you get to fly on that stretched DC-8 Hand?
He’s not even a brilliant footballer. Real Madrid have had their worst season in years just after he joins them England thrashed Iceland quite easily without Beckham. The only goal Beckham scored in the last world cup was a penalty, hardly set the tournament alight with this so called superior skill did he? In the world cup before that he was sent off.
Thank you Comet! This fantastic commentary almost makes up for all your Air New Zealand bashing. 😉
That Bae-146 is nice! Where did the windows go? I’m assuming “Old Charley Boy” is Prince Charles?
So, I know nothing about “football”. I’ve played it and found it very disjointed. So many opportunities to halt the game – teams far too big to experience a full game – padding – padding! it just doesn’t flow like Rugby.
I’m not knocking it, I’ve tried it and I’m happier with Rugby – well, I was whilst I still played it, my neck and knees won’t allow that any more.
You know what Robbo, I apologize for overgeneralizing. If you played the game, then you do have knowledge in regards to it. You also provide reasoning as to why you prefer rugby over it, and I respect that. The reasoning also makes sense. I can’t say the same for typical commentary in regards to American football, i.e. real men don’t need to wear pads; football is for sissies, etc. Those types of comments are just asinine, and make no sense, whatsoever.
I’ve been to NRL and Aussie rules football matches while in Australia. I respect both games for what they are, and by no means would I criticize either for the simple purpose of comparison to the sport I prefer, American football.
Wasn’t this a soccer thread, once upon a time? 😉 I neglected to mention the team I would like to win, not necessarily the team that will win. That would be the Dutch. The most talented team, in this case, isn’t always the best.
I said, optimal, LOL, I meant Optical. It says on the camera it’s a 38-380mm equivalent.
What does a 10x optimal zoom in a digital camera equate to? If utilized, does it take away from the quality?
