Hermes was down there and shes still hanging in there after 50+ years.

Invincible is still in good enough nick for some one to get 10-15 years out of her, I would put money on they. I seriously wondered in 2005 if the Indians might take her off our hands and retire Hermes then. Spend £100 mill or a little more buying Invincible while waiting for the russians to finnish.

Why build another class, the Clyde class OPV could easily be upgunned to a 57mm, and anyway, the sailors were in transit between a ship they were searching and home, so unless you’re going to run ramps for a bigger armed launch like the Absalon class does then you’re still going to put boarding parties in the same position, especially as the RoE would almost certainly prohibit opening fire.

The reason they were caught was that they had a massive transit distance between the type 23 and the ship they were searching. This thing will be able to pull over ships and use the ribs to move 20 meters or so onto the vessel they want to search. And if the Iranians came looking again a 57 mm will make them think twice.

Also we have one moddified River Class which is now the Clyde Class and only 3 River class Vessels. I believe these to be important vessels, working in tandem in some cases with a C3. If I was running things I would have a C3 and one of my Type 6’s in the Carib, I would also have one of these pairings in the Falklands. And also probably one off the coast of Solmalia.

    Thanks.

The C3 fitout was a Otobreda 76 mm gun, its fitted 16 Sylver A-43 quad packed with the CAMM missile. I would also have mounts for 50 cal’s around the ship.

The main thing I want out of the C3 is alot more of them than 8 – double it an i would be happy – hell 12 would be good.

if your only gonna comment on the names

oh heres my patrol boat. This is something I wish the UK had, ever since has sailors giving themselves up to Iranians I wished we had some of these, I would base them around the world. I dont need comments saying this is stupid im submitting it to the fantasy world section. I guess it could be similar to a Coast Guard cutter.

Ths picture has a helicopter – it wouldnt have one permenantly on board this one is transfering crew.

Its armed with a 57mm Bofor by BAE and two 50 cal’s

Ok CAM didn’t know how to draw it.

Using quad packed CAM would be fine.

This is a design based on an ealier drawing I posted. I’m thinking adding another phalanx could be
    To costly.

Umm, something a bit like this?

Can I take 18 of those for the RN now please?

Perfect for all the crap we have Type 24’s doing now I really dont ever want to see and RFA ship going after drug guys in the Carib.

Can I remind people about the Westland WS-70 ZG468

    http://history.whl.co.uk/ws70_blackhawk.html

    Thats what im looking for.

I was hoping it would run like the Apache purchase. We buy the first 10 or so and then Agusta knock out the rest from kits or something.

One of my main concerns is that we never seem to have enough helicopters, I would rather have the right number of UH-60 than have the EH101 but not enough of them. Cost is always a factor
