When I was working my College Industrial Placement at Boscombe Down back in 1987. One of the RAF Chief Techs told me a story where they had a room rigged out with all sorts of electrical equipment at some RAF base he was stationed on. Anyway, whenever there was a tour by kids from the local schools then they warned repeatedly, NOT to touch any thing in the room as it was expensive and sensitive equipment and risk of damage etc. Of course the kids ignored this, as the RAF guys knew they would! But they had actually rigged up the room, so that any button was pressed on a certain machine, it would cause all sorts of bangs, sparks, smoke to be generated as it had been ‘broken’!
The techies would then find out what kid did this, (usually by the shock on their face) and say things like. “Oh no.. What have you done, has your dad got lots of money to fix this” :-), to a now crying kid, before revealing the ‘joke’
Anyway, during one particular school tour, this happened, and they turned around to find the culprit was the teacher in charge of the kids!

Of course would not be allowed now, in-case the parents would sue the RAF for ‘permanent damage to young Johnnie state of mind’
