So this mystery aircraft has a Merlin.. The only airworthy G-59 I know about already has an engine.. So unless this was bought without the power supply it is likely that the new aircraft is a restoration project that NEEDs an engine and as such it may be a few years before she is ready.. Also as the Buchon is nearly ready, prehaps the engineers need a new challenge to keep them occupied

Just to make it perfectly clear.. I KNOW IT WAS FICTION

Oh 1.. And I just know this story and the Bergarac one will start to get confused in about 20 years time….

Oh 2.. I have found a complete BfF110 in my Garden Pond, spent £100,000 bringing it up, looked it over and then decided to put it back from once it came from [as you do 🙂 ]

Beautiful looking beast. But there’s something not quite right about a 109 minus a swastika on the tail…

I do not know if this is relevant but…

Itn’t is against the law in Germany to display the Swastika?

This may be ‘create the image’ as you can’t do this to retrospectively to photos/artifacts that already display them

Yes I know.. but the point I was making was that IF the MOD recovered a near complete Bf110 from a lake/Loch in the UK would they PUT IT BACK??? once they had finished with it?

Am I being cheeky and saying RAF Lichfield 1954 for the Wellington?? and maybe 11th October 1924 for G-EBJE Avro 504K at Belper, Derbyshire ??

Yep. because she probably ‘earned them’

IIRC R4118 served with 605 Sqn during the BoB

605 Sqn code was UP

So methinks R4118 was indeed ‘W’

Interestingly, I have just worked out her Civil Code is:

G-HUPW

Hurricane UP-W !!!!

So it has ALWAYS been planned to have these codes on here since she was registered in 2001

Warning Hawker Hurricane is NOT complete (not all aircraft listed)!.. I would invest in the Air Britain Serial books but they still do not give u the full picture..

This will have to wait until someone does the Hurricane justice some day.. (As well as the Wellington and the Sunderland please)
