It may have been stated before on this thread, but the Hon.D Healey, in his auto-biography, denies all knowledge of being responsible for the cancellation of the TSR2! As with all politicians…..’ were you lying then or are you lying now?’
Secondly at the time of cancellation the Labour Government of Harold Wilson was desperate for cash from the IMF and needed the US vote to get the funds. Hence the cancellation and plan to procure the F-111 instead.

Myself and Mutant jnr. arrive at Gatwick on Fri. Hire car to Duxford for arrivals day and show Saturday. Will be loitering in the Flypast enclosure with CHAA paraphanalia! Then off ‘ome’….’Up North’. Walney on 16th, Breighton 0n 23rd, Windermere 24th…..back to Canadaland 25th. Sucks eh!

Happy to say that TC is following the FAA on this one with initial inspection to include non-destructive testing using flourescent dye. 🙂 The process is a bit messy and the pre and post inspection donkey work is about 10 hours per aircraft. Happily, all aircraft that have recently undergone this process in the US, have been negative for cracks. No doubt, once more data is available, I think and hope that the inspection will be allowed to be completed using ‘eddy current’ technology.

First things first. Let’s get the Harvards back in the air! 🙂

As Crazymainer said, that on this side of ‘The Pond’ Discovery Wings has become ‘The Military Channel’. Largely a recruitment tool for the US Armed Forces! Sadly jingoistic b*****ks at it’s very worst! Think yourselves lucky you can have wall to wall John Nichol.
The shows that I did see, hosted by Mr.Nichol were great, IMHO. :p

TC have to justify their existence and to simply parallel the FAA approach just wouldn’t make sense!!

You never know TC may just suprise us. (I hope.)

Not that Canada is in Europe, but following on from the FAA’s AD, Transport Canada has grounded all Harvards!! 🙁

No doubt we will be waiting months for their version of the same corrective maintainance recommended by the FAA!
