The last batch . . .
Here’s the next batch, by now in Canada (the Hawk in the previous batch was at Moose Jaw).
Come on, then, where’s the obligatory photo?
My source (“Lightning”, Bryan Philpott) says the first flights were:
P 1A 1st prototype WG760 August 4 1954
P 1A 2nd prototype WG763 July 18 1955
P 1B 1st prototype XA847 April 4 1957
P 1B 2nd prototype XA853 5 September 1957
P 1B 3rd prototype XA856 3 January 1958
Just to set the record straight!

Hi Alistair!
Sorry, I only take the photos, quite often I have to find out what they are later from someone else! Anyone out there familiar with this, that looks like an Ag Wagon with a turbo, but probably isn’t!
Marine aircraft at Oshkosh 2003
A few from last year at Oshkosh . . .
Sorry to hijack your thread, but it is my birthday after all!
They both flew (my camera couldn’t really hack it) but not in any “warlike” poses. Rather genteel circuits really but I don’t mind, with such precious airframes.
Catalinas
ShabbyAbbey, I found these two Cats in storage at Red Deer, along with a whole lot of Invaders – but that’s another story!
C170BDan, a small tweak with Photoshop would easily remove the offending bucket and tape! Did you wait for the rain shower to get the people out of the way? I had to wait ages to get my uncluttered picture! It looks as if I captured the same bucket anyway! Perhaps buckets are the new trend instead of cones, or would they be the American equivalent perhaps?
Off she peeled to drop her next load on the fire (11), and we scooted back the hundred miles or so to Campbell River at about 40 ft altitude – now I know what it must have been like for the Dambusters – but we were in a seaplane and it was daylight, still very exciting! We piled back into the bus and drove back all the way to Sproat Lake, by which time both Mars were quietly resting on the water (12). Look at the size of the man on the tailplane of Hawaiian Mars!
After a while she took off again, circling round first (13), and then with a mighty roar making an airborne circuit (14) before rapidly disappearing.
What a day! Never to be forgotten, and the sheer power and size of the Mars have to be seen to be believed!

Sorry, folks, I am rather busy at the moment, but here is the missing Spitfire that I forgot to include.
The Buchon picture was taken on the Saturday, 31 July.
I fear it will be the weekend before my highlights can appear, but they are worth waiting for, as Stieglitz knows!
Thanks, Michel, I am so busy getting the pix up that I haven’t got time to look at my notes and provide captions!
Superb pics, Gareth, an example to us all!
Prop blur problem
One niggle I have with my Minolta Dimage A1 is that when set to shutter override at e.g. 1/125, the automatic aperture refuses to stop down below f/9. This washes out the picture, and I want it to go to f/16 or even further, has anyone any clues on how to get around this please?
