Excellent news and with another Proctor rediscovered you’ve certainly got your work cut out to get them airborne again!
Can’t wait to see both of them back where they belong.
Best of luck.

Pretty sure one of the Chipmunks was G-BBRV as it was registered in the early 90s to the HSA (Chester) Sports and Social Club. All three aircraft were cream with blue trim as shown with the other Chipmunk being G-BARS and the Tiger Moth G-ANTE.
All three are still currently registered but now in various military schemes although the Tiger doesn’t have a current C of A.
If you look them up on G-INFO you will see photos of how the Chippies look now.

The nose of a Mk. 32 in front of the picture and a Mk. 21 behind.
My memory of ‘FVT tells me that it was a dark blue colour when I saw it at White Waltham, or am I thinking of another one?
No, nothing wrong with your memory – my earliest recollection of the Reliant was at Eastleigh in October 1960 and I always remember it as being dark blue. I don’t recall the orange scheme at all – the photo was rescued via a friend who was throwing out his slide collection.:(
As regards the Superfreighter I realise what G-INFO says but I have an Air Britain register showing G-AMWC (and ‘D) as a Mk. 31E and my real query was what distinguishes it from the Mk.32. Probably not much but was just wondering.

You are dead right. A Gemini is nice but not a realistic ownership proposition these days unless you have unlimited funds and time to maintain it. I’m surprised somebody bid as much and am with Fournier Boy on this one. I know an L4 Cub went for almost as much recently and it’s not as desirable as a Cub – but then we would say that wouldn’t we. ๐

G-AFVT. I remember that aeroplane as a regular visitor at Gatwick in the late 1960s. Bit of an oddity amongst the usual American tinplate wonders (notably excepting the Air London B.206s). I never did know what the Civil Air Guard was. Can anyone out there shed light in my darkness? Even better, does anyone have a photo of G-AFVT at Gatwick? With the box Brownie I had then, it was impossible to get a decent photo of her in the GA area at Gatwick (but in those days, at least you could get within seeing distance of the light and business aircraft there!).
National Airguard actually and from memory it was a kind of volunteer sky watch organisation. Fat chance of a picture of the Stinson at Gatwick, so you will just have to make do with this one! ๐
Just to keep on the original thread here are a pair of Bristols taken at Lydd, including the nose of a Silver City Mk 31E (and no I don’t know the difference).

Janie hasn’t spotted my little typo yet …
Don’t mention the war – but I think you got away with it…..
Either she is busy keeping in flying practice ready for Newforest or else Mummy’s found out her little secret and grounded her. ๐ ๐ ๐

The last one I know of was local to me and sold recently (last couple of months) for around the 30k mark. That one had the original cirrus engines, recently overhauled with about 20 hours on them. Nice machine – not a cub tho!
FB
Very limited market and not an easy aircraft to sell these days – it was being offered for sale for ages and he had to take a ‘Rodnoc’ ๐ in part exchange! At least that was easier to sell on as they are very popular now that all of them are allowed to go on Permits.

Just about the noisiest light aircraft I ever flew in, this one, seen when it was F-BEOB, I believe still exists up at Chirk. Anyone know?

Felt sure that one of our forum super sleuths would have come up with an identity by now.
I always thought it was a Moth Major and assumed it was an ex Spanish AF example without a civil history but am prepared to be proved wrong on this.
Any enthusiasts’ groups in Spain that might know?

Thanks very much for the picture Willip, do you have any more? I have attached another showing a slightly different scheme taken in 1957. I believe that this photo is from the Cyril Peckham Collection. Does anyone know the main fuselage colour?
Several gliders in the G-AL** series can be seen in the 1949 film clips section here:

The short cut titles are out of line with the links.
Robert
You’re welcome but sorry, no that’s the only one – taken on a visit to Shoreham probably back in the early ’60’s. Any idea what would have retrieved it as I can’t remember back that far?

Last Percival in Spain?
Photographed at Castellon de la Plana airfield in September 1970, was this Proctor the last Percival type to survive in Spain or was there an EP-9 somewhere which lingered on longer?
Interesting to see there are 2 EP-9 relics surviving in Australia and can somebody tell us the history of those?
Cheers

No problem JDK, but I thought Janie was the official forum DH policeperson?:D
What about the de Havilland 60 at Valenicia? Location exactly as I will be there next month.
Location, location, location?
Don’t remember at this distance from the event but we were en route to Valencia Airport after visiting the sleepy little airfield of Castellon de la Plana.
My memory tells me it was on the main road and we certainly didn’t know of it beforehand or go off the beaten track to find it.
As for the premises I thought it was a factory but I suspect that the first edition of European W&R published in 1989 may give a strong clue.
It says that a couple of kilometres from Manises air base in the direction of the city centre there was a car breakers yard, which up to November 1988 had an Aerotecnica AC12, whatever that is, positioned as what they refer to as an ‘eye-catcher’.

I didn’t (look it up) – laziness/lack of time overcame curiousity, and the expectation that someone would, eventually explain :p
Roger Smith.
Roger
He’s probably got one in that shed ๐ but a Google search reveals it to be a gunsight used on various Luftwaffe night fighters.
The nice thing about this forum is that you live and learn all the time – bit like flying itself actually.

Spanish Moth
Can anyone provide an identity and details of the eventual fate of this DH60?
Photo was taken by the roadside outside commercial premises near Valencia whilst on holiday in September 1970.
It would be interesting to know what became of it and whether it still survives.
Thanks
Wicked Willip :diablo:
Blimey, you’d a’ thought they’d have removed the Schrรคge Musik from that Fox Moth before using it for joy riding! ๐ฎ
Nearly lost me there (had to go and look it up) and I suspect several others as well…..
BTW excellent photos, thanks molyned.
